  1. He's done in the organization. Waldrop is still part of the future....if he can get guys out.
  2. Lost my sis to to cancer 3yrs ago......suxx as ive been wonderin about him as he was still listed on ft myers roster
  3. Chicago is currently on pace for 84Ws (.521 38-35). To reach 84 wins....MN needs to go 54-36 or .600 winning percentage. The Yankees(.611) & TEX (.608) are the only 2 teams currently playing at that level. So they will have to go from the 4th worst record in baseball to the 3rd best....starting now. Not gonna happen Doesnt mean we cant enjoy the remaining part of the season.
  4. Anyone hear what his injury is? Pat Reusse's show in twin cities mentioned its a UCL tear/sprain & may need surgery after the twins attempt at rehab ends. I hadnt heard it was this serious or did i hear it wrong
  5. Just sayin......Tyler Ladendorf tore up ELIZ a few yrs back & was never even close to replicating that. Part of reason I dont like the league is you cannot trust any numbers a player puts up there. Cannot fully judge a player till he gets to A ball & its frustrating cause Niko is condisered a solid prospect.
  6. They arent gonna hire Hatcher & if there is a change, its pretty obvious that Mickey's former teammate Tom Brunansky is the hitting coach in waiting. Gardy has never favored ex players that had success. That would challenge his authority. With Gardy's deal on its last year, after this one, its either extend him or let him go time. Terry Ryan may try to change the coaching staff & if he does, Gardy may just resign...as he's extremely loyal to his coaches. This gets both off the hook. If he wants to stay & get extended, now is the time to get a coaching shakeup with Gardys blessing.
  7. entering the 2010 season, Stewart was rated their #1 prospect but didnt rank in the top 100. Other than contracts...I dont believe they are that similar any more---were at some point Youk's value over Justin is his dual positions on defense as his hitting has proven absolutely no beneit this year. His walk % is a career low & his K rate has jumped considerably & his ISO power is also a career low as a regular. Justin has retained his ISO power & is hitting righties better than his career average. Its the lefties holding him down statistically (60ABs cannot be the final judge). He has dropped slightly his BB% & K rate is up career wise....but not even close to Youks fall. If Justin gets the lefties straightened out, he's back 100%. Justin has far more value than Youk right now as he's a better current player, but can you collect on that value. If not, we keep him. We're not just gonna give him away.
  8. if he sits for 2 wks.....still got 3 weeks till deadline. Being careful may be better. Wont have any chances for blown saves
  9. Has Hirschfeld got any future with he big club?? He's finally made consecutvie starts in AAA for first time & is probably there to stay (full yr too late IMO as he earned it last yr). At 26 (27 Sept 8), he is again a Rule V probable. Could he be our version of a Terry Doyle. He's got another yr till FA. 3.33 ERA in 497 career minor league IP with 6.5K/9. His only downfall is he doesnt throw hard (surprising in the org) but he gets guys out. Jeff Manship is out of options after this yr.....I could see Hirch being that kind of swing guy for the Twins the next couple yrs.
  10. With the possibility of Capps goin on the DL, Duensing staying in the rotation....at least for another week...., we will need a roster move. If they go with a lefty, as many suspect, it could be current 40 man roster reliever Tyler Robertson. He has been outstanding this year, must like last yr in New Brit. Started slow First 10gms 10.1IP 11h 10er (8.71ERA) 6bb 14K Since 23gms 18.1IP 15h 2er (0.98ERA) 7bb 19K As a lefty specialist.....LHH's are hitting only .167 off him with 19K in 15.1IP With PJ Walters back next SAT (assuming this means Duensing back to pen, not Hendriks to AAA), this could be only a week or so promotions.....unless we finally do the right thing & DFA Jeff Gray.
  11. Gardy has already said that PJ Walters will be activated & pitch one of the games. The corresponding move will be Sunday morning to get back to to 25. The rule is only for scheduled in advance DH's. Rainout on a SAT & DH on a Sunday, for ex, doesnt count. If we go with a LH out of pen, Tyler Robertson is the guy. Already on the 40 man roster, w/ lefties hitting .167 with 19K in 15.1IP
  12. Im fine with resigning him as we will still try to trade Capps, Liriano, Span, Morneau among others. Gotta keep someone. Calling him the backup catcher is just wrong as Drew Butera will be the backup to Joe as long as he feels. When he doesnt feel like it, he'll tell Gardy and we'll figure something else upl.
  13. it would be Tyler Robertson....who's been pretty good in ROC, esp vs LHH. Looks like PJ Walters is also ready & will start a game next SAT in the KC DH. Will that mean Duensing back to pen after 1 more start?? Would they waste Liam Hendriks by sending him back?? He's done all he can in AAA, let him take his lumps. Again, they should just dump Jeff Gray & get DGuerra up here to start getting some experience.
  14. they have killed 2 full seasons from him...........this medical staff is amazing. Get it done NOW
  15. it'd be more inventive if you could find a manager who can handle a 25 man roster
  16. had this in a previous thread on Adam....rated 59th by BAmerica 3 yrs @ Jacksonville 168 gms 644ABs .359/.441/.635 w/51doubles 2 triples 41HR 174rbi 184k 88bb 40/41sb Only bad thing from that stat line is his Ks but he got better every yr 74 in 192ABs as frosh for 33.6K% 63 in 242Abs as soph for 22% Ks 47 in 210ABs as junior for 19.4% Ks
  17. I agree on the development part......but if he proves he can handle AA successfully like he is/has, shouldnt he deserve a promotion AS part of his development. Again, Im fine with him in AA unless he continues to 'dominate' with his 88mph fastball. Realistically....he's far surpassed about everybodys expectations for this yr, but with success comes new/higher expectations
  18. 4 more games since original post @ NBrit 5IP 1sv 1h 3bb 8k AA season 7gm 9IP 2h 0er 5bb 13k turns 24 on July 18....hope for a good month & AAA promotion could he be a 40 man roster candidate this winter.....if so, could be a Sept callup
  19. Max is now 19 and the excuse of being young is no longer valid if he is a true prospect. Starter out last year 0-13 after 3 games (2-23 after 5gms---.286 after ) & is 0-13 after 3 games this year. I realize he's young but you have to evenually produce something.....average/power/speed/etc & he's shown none
  20. You got me wrong.....He should stay in minors untill the minor league season is over & THEN get a Sept recall just to get him another 20/25 innings. Im not even saying he should start but just get an extra month of rehab in the majors rather than ending the season.
  21. I think they would rather keep Hermsen in AA for awhile & Im fine with that......but you cant say that he's not more ready than the bums they are/will be running out there. Saw Jeremy predicted Aaron Thompson may get the recall & that's typical Twins....another washout to take the spot instead of earning it.
  22. at what point does the organization weigh the options of having a 28 yr old starter on a level where they cant field 5 starters vs. him blowing out the bullpen in every one of his starts. 6 starts....only one did he reach 5IP 11.25 ERA in 20IP 45hits (.446BAA) 13K 6bb.....lefties hitting .541 off him. There is absolutely no reason to keep him other than the organization doesnt want to promote a BJ Hermsen. Hopefully David Bromberg is back relatively soon.
  23. with off day Thur....they dont need another 5th stater till 2nd game of DH next Sat. That could mean they could go to DeVries then as he will start on MON. Hopefully, this is only a game outing for Duensing and he gets back to pen & we ditch Gray next wk.
  24. Duensing has been very underrated in his 09/10 & 11 was tough. Leave him in start all yr or keep him in pen where he is very valuable. Way they think in MN....he wont go more than 2/3IP blowing off the pen till the AS break.
  25. This Sept is a free look for MN (no options used) since they need to add him to 40 man. Gibson has said Juy will include about 16/17 IP in GCL & then promotion in AUG.....another 20-30IP probably. I would like to see him in MN ....not as a starter per se....but to get the MLB debut jitters out of way & get another 15-20IP out of pen/midde relief/spot start. We'll see I guess. Assume he will go to AFL then for another 30IP. With 75 or so IP this yr....he could be good to go next yr, even if they start him in ROC for a month or 2 (Twins way of course).
