  1. not necessarily DL'd but anyone know the time tables on Byron Buxton & Derek Rodriquez (what DR's injury is also)
  2. we're probably talkin a July 31 type deal....so Mastoianni would probably be the guy out there for the next couple wks after that. Wouldnt be shocked to see Benson/Arcia recalled to play/platoon RF real soon after the suppossed trade. Hicks will eventually be recalled this yr....so as long as he's not optioned back, its a free look for MN. Rene Tosoni is also on the 40 man roster, so it'd be him before Clete Thomas or Matt Carson, who arent on the 40 man
  3. Ben has exceeded everyones hope but the problem is gonna be that he is only as valuable as his batting average. That can be dangerous, but so far this year, so good. With Benson, Arcia & Hicks all about ready (give or take) & Buxton possibly a couple yrs out (#2 picks should make majors in 3/4 yrs IMO), Ben could be a 4th OF....but a very valuable one.
  4. only cause they did the same with Jordan Zimmerman, tho it wasnt in a pennant race They pitched him 70.2 combined IP in 2010 & 160 in 2011. Dont believe it has to be so cut & dry but depending on how the circumstances are with the pitcher (performance, how seasons goin, is he tiring) Strasburg did 44.1 combined IP in his first year back last season....both had ACL surgeries about the same time of the yr (aug/sept) as Gibson. Again MNs history was to go fullbore with Liriano when he was back...we'll see next yr I guess
  5. Last Twins starter that had TJ surgery was Francisco Liriano. He threw a combined 199.2IP in that first year back after 18 months or so of rehab & his arm was sound. Liriano problems have been command, not arm. Will be interesting if the do the same with Gibson & possibly Baker or take what I percieve as the wimp way out as Washington is
  6. Agree with em on Hicks.....as much as i love him, he needs to keep this up but if he does, he reenters the top 100...wouldnt most agree?? With Arcia in 50/75 range....that 5 in top 100...not bad---no pitchers, but not bad
  7. My fault....of course Capps.....talkin bout Jeff Gray/Casey Fien
  8. Cole DeVries has already pitched more innings than he has either of last seasons. Aaron Thompson.....OMG Twins dont have the nuts to promote Hermsen to AAA let alone MN Blackburn/Hendriks will be back.....Pavano eventually
  9. Option out your own guy who's pitched very well in last 3yrs........keep old retread pitchers who dont have good AAA/mlb numbers......classic Twins
  10. Again..since the 0-13....16gms 19/57 for a .333/.506/.439 16runs 10rbi 14bb 6k 6hbp. The 14bb vs 6K is very nice but he needs to keep this up.
  11. Myself, I would like to think that Adam Walker is gonna be on the top 10 list by the end of the season.....ahead of Hermann & Michaels for sure, possibly Goodrum also.
  12. he will surpisingly earn the 5th spot in the rotation next spring & Gardy/TRyan will claim his contract will have nothing to do with it. After 2 months of ROC, Kyle Gibson will be called up for Blackburn & his 5.5 ERA. They will just keep him as the placeholder for Gibson.
  13. thrown out...no major league contracts
  14. Basically we'd have to find another $5M guy on another team that they dont want (ex Carlos Silva for Milton Bradley) Anyone think of someone??
  15. Hicks will be a Twin this Sept
  16. Interesting to see if MN puts an innings limit on Gibson next yr..ala Washington. They didnt on Liriano in 08 as he pitched 200 combined innings. He hasnt had arm prolems from it IMO as his troubles have been command
  17. New system.....which most of us love.....could be the end of Scott Boros style agents in the draft. Boros, not Appel, cost the pitcher several slots in this draft.....meaning millions
  18. New Brits chris collabello..28...& evan bigley...26....are 1/2 in rbi in the lg
  19. Great start......but im still holding to idea he will be in MN in sept...if only to get more innings
  20. Maloney TJ surgery .... done for yr
  21. GREAT, now they decide to have the surgery on a pitcher....but its Maloney???
  22. Thru New Brit All Star Break, the 28 yr olds numbers 81 gms .273/.338/.490 49runs 24doubles 1triple 13HR 61rbi (2nd in RBI in Eastern Lg to Evan Bigley) 56k 23bb Since June 1 35gms .331/.380/.525 23runs 13doubles 1triple 4hr 26rbi 23k 10bb At his age, shouldnt he be perfect for the ROC lineup??? Or do they want to continue to DH Brian Dinkelman & Sean Burroughs
  23. If there was no Miguel Sano in Beloit....could get a promotion!!!
  24. All Star break with Hicks finishing with a 3-4 w/bb & HR Since returning from ankle injury...21gms 29/83 .349/.426/.578 20runs 2doubles 4triples 3hr 11rbi 10bb 22k 2/5sb overall 78gms .275/.365/.446 51runs 10doubles 5triples 9HR 38rbi 41bb 72k 19/27sb's vs LHP 82ABs .305/.370/.488 vs RHP 194ABs .263/.364/.428 He is no doubt moving back into elite status as a prospect.....IMO pushing Sano for top spot if he keeps this up for next 7 wks
  25. Hicks needs to be added to the 40 man roster this winter, so he will be a Sept callup .....not May of next yr. That could be when he is called up for his first 'real' shot tho.
