    It’s also a bit naive to think Boston and LA hadn’t already talked to other teams ahead of the deal being made. If nothing but Graterol materialized beforehand, why would something better come along now? If Boston wants this deal done, they haven’t exactly approached it in a way that puts them in the drivers seat. If this indeed is a save face move to the fans, I’m not sure what the hell they are going to be able to pull out of the hat to appease them, they’ve kind of played their hand.

    When I first heard about this deal I wondered what add the Twins might be getting, not giving. A top 10’pick, get bent Boston. Don’t blink Falvine.

    Berrios’s motivation will be to enhance his own value, period. If he accomplishes that it will help the Twins win another AL Central, they kind of go together. To think the Twins wouldn’t be one of the teams who he increases his value with, and not sign with them if their offer is fair to him, doesn’t make much sense. The Twins have the luxury of getting ahead of the process, other teams don’t.

    Thinking Berrios is going to harbour ill feelings over 375K is as silly as thinking the Twins are cheap for not givingit to him. Money talks, if an extension works out with terms Berrios is happy with, there is no reason he won't stay, certainly not this reason.

    Seems to me this is what trades for prospects look like, they aren't going to dig up a number 1 or 2 starter for that price. Free agency didn't work out for them like they would have liked so we have this, which improves their pitching now, which is desperately needed. Maeda can be an important piece for the Twins for the next couple or 3 years, you worry about replacing a Graterol type in the pipeline later. I like the deal.

    People don't actually take this stuff seriously.......do they? The list of bands not considered HOF worthy could arguably be more impressive than the ones actually in there, lol. The whole idea of it is absurd.

    His expressed desire to play in Arizona and him mentioning he left money on the table to do so. Also, you only need to listen at how much his family has enjoyed being there over the years. It was pretty obvious, I don’t say that condescendingly.

    Playing in Minneapolis for 15m more wasn't as important as what he and his family wanted by going to Arizona. That's not all that complicated. Whether that was the reason for every other FA not to come or not is irrelevant. It's pretty obvious it was the reason in this case.

    Former Gophers Chris Streveler and Drew Wolitarsky celebrating at the Grey Cup parade for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Bombers captured the CFL championship this past Sunday. Strev was hilarious and clearly having a good time, lol.
