  1. What? Where are you hearing this and why would that be the case? Williams is impressive, he's going to become a central figure as the season goes on. I'd still say Decker/Wheelright
  2. Olbermann probably couldn't name more than 5 Twins without looking at a roster list, the guy is a bandwagon critic.
  3. No, a manager will not put butts in the seats but he can contribute quite a bit in creating a winning team. It's definitely going to take more but I didn't hear anyone talking about how the job was done after tying the can to Gardy. We'll see what happens, they've already surprised most of us, it could get even more interesting.
  4. No slight to Gardy, I liked him well enough but this makes me pretty jazzed about next season already.
  5. Good lord, I'm as sick of Olberman as I am of Jeter. Does he actually think people put any weight into what he has to say?
  6. Stunned, shouldn't be but still stunned. Think it's time though.
  7. LA's headed for the playoffs, what self respecting player wouldn't want to be in that position right now? I think he meant it from either that perspective or the weather. Man social media stirs up so much nonsense.
  8. Congrats to Morneau.......and crap!
  9. I just don't see the justification to bump Escobar out of the lineup regularly right now. The team is strongest with both Escobar and Santana in the lineup, keep them both there until Buxton pushes the issue and forces a decision at SS.
  10. Gibson, Arcia, Vargas, Santana, May, Hicks. All got significant experience this year at the major league level and with the exception of Hick's all showed the ability to make adjustments at this level and be effective players, at a pretty young age. Dozier, Plouffe, Hughes, Escobar, Sure they lost over 90 games again but based on the above and the players who will be joining the team at some point next season, this is nothing like a year ago.
  11. He'll be back.
  12. Must be the echo from the road fans in Ann Arbour finally reaching you from yesterday.
  13. I'm not sure what I'm more relieved by, the end of this Twins season or no more Jeter.
  14. No, but the not so average incendiary types should be no problem, as evidenced by a large segment of this website.
  15. He's taping the Gopher game, the real Minnesota football team.
  16. Maybe stop drinking Pil or have 5 more, that should do it. I'm in, a two person Jet thread beginning opening night. Some gratuitous Wild mocking should invite more participants.
  17. Laptop, I spend a lot of time in hotels, it's a good way to kill time.
  18. Well at least we're using quantifiable facts now...
  19. Yes, now I'm more firmly convinced than ever that the Twins just don't want to win. That has to be it.
  20. Have a beer, your usual sardonic wit is giving way to a jaded bitterness today. Pav needs to have a better year, sucks might be a bit strong but I get the sentiment. Bottom 3? No chance, much better team than that, although likely not playoffs yet. Doesn't help they play in arguably the toughest division in the league and in the Western conference.
  21. Ok, now hockey season officially starts, goodbye all. Go Jets!!!
  22. Now you're moving the goalposts sir.
  23. Less SO's would be a start.
