  1. Whew!!
  2. Not a fan of the gold but overall the uniform is a big upgrade over the arctic white pinstripes, I hated those uniforms. The throwback off whites are still my fave.
  3. What a thorough pummeling! First time in 47 years that Floyd and the Jug sit in the trophy case in the same year, was also the same year said axe was also on campus as well, coincidence? But you know, same old Gophers.........crickets.
  4. I think they might be looking for a new ball boy, does that count?
  5. If an injury prevents you from playing at the required level or if playing through it increases the risk of making it worse, you should take a break. The "tough guy, gutting it out " meme is so tired and cliche. The sports world is filled with macho idiots who put themselves at further risk and weaken their teams by trying to maintain an image, one that at the end of the day is a self centered one, not one that is about the team. Brett Favre could possibly be the poster boy for this attitude, the guy was all about himself, lol.
  6. It would take someone changing their mind on what they're already convinced is the truth though, and as a result maybe even being wrong.
  7. I like the comment about Mauer leading by example, from a guy who is there and sees it every day.
  8. Went to both games this week, liking the look of this team more and more. Refereeing last night was abysmal, just some absolutely awful calls, less PK time could have swung the game in the Jets favour as they dominated most of the game 5 v 5. Coming back from 3-1 down against a talented and hot team like Pittsburgh, I'll take it for now, easily could have won that game. Game of the year last night, by far. Wheeler actually won his fight last night, hilarious. Tough road trip coming up, ending with back to back Nashville/Minnesota, 6 points would be good but at least 3 of them have to come from those back two games.
  9. That funny, I've barely read a word about who the Cubs hired as their manager, but then again, I'm a Twins fan.
  10. 7 of 8 on the road ending in a back to back with Chicago and 2 straight shutouts, could be on to something here. Once they start scoring a bit ( they have to start scoring....dont they?) this could get interesting.
  11. I doubt they're wasting time feeling sorry for themselves.
  12. 5 of 6 points on the New York trip, I'll take that any day, guarantees an over. 500 road trip. Pavelec strong again. Things are quietly looking up.
  13. The defense? Sure, Purdue gave them some problems. Leidner? They put up 450 yards of offense and scored 39 points. Yeah, pretty clear he was the problem.
  14. I don't think Molitor did much last year to earn wearing the good old boy badge. To overly focus on where he came from and not his acumen for the game is just petulant and unfair. Perhaps the best guy got the job.........nah, that's no fun.
  15. Let alone the accuracy of it.
  16. How about Northern Illinois? They beat Iowa last year, amazingly the Iowa program survived, actually won some games and played in the Fiesta Bowl against LSU. Shocking, I'm sure. You act as if a lesser opponent has never upset a higher ranked team. Seriously? The Gophers are the first team to ever lose to an opponent they shouldn't have? Upsets happen, especially in college, except when they happen against the Gophers apparently, far easier to just dump on them.
  17. If that's as deep as you want to look or as simple as you want to make things, then yes. If that's the depth of someone's analysis or understanding of the program, it's not worth the time.
  18. That was 56 minutes and 23 seconds of pretty good hockey, they seem to be getting it. Postma looks like a legit NHL defensemen, been better or as good as Bogo imo. Somebody needs to tell Wheeler that shooting on net strongly correlates to scoring goals.
  19. Kulemin hit on Stuart was pretty scary, I'd expect a couple games for him, it was indefensible. What a d**khead.
  20. Well whatta you know, 2 straight, and against a good team to boot.
  21. Was at the Avs game, easily their best of the season. The Byfuglien, Hulkster double body slam was epic. Scheifele needs to put a rabbit in his pants or maybe a horse shoe up his ass......ok. maybe the first one. Goals finally coming tonight.
  22. Well said, if anyone is of the opinion that this is the same old Gophers, they just haven't been paying attention to anything but box scores.
  23. Ok, breathing again.
  24. Let's look at the possibilities here. A. The Twins don't feel real good about one of their most prized prospects having a setback in an environment they have very little control over. B. Sano has suffered a setback and naturally Ryan is lying to all of us. C. The Twins don't feel real good about one of their most prized prospects having a setback in an environment they have very little control over. D. Zombie Apocalypse is coming and the end is near anyway.
