  1. How about them Jets eh?!! I love this team! Goaltending, who would have thunk it? 5 straight to get to the All Star break, 7 of 8 points on the road trip from hell that included back to backs in LA/Anaheim and Dallas/Chicago.........team is legit. White out here we come!
  2. I don't think I've ever left a sporting event early, honestly. Although I have arrived late to a number of them. A tradition me and some friends have had since we were young is to never leave a hockey game until the 3 stars are announced.
  3. Twins Sign Scherzer?…………. http://i.giphy.com/RrMHH4morVkKA.gif
  4. You're right, far better he blame others and maintain zero integrity.
  5. Agreed, the result doesn't change my opinion of where Kill has this program heading.
  6. I tend to agree with Chief on this one, although not quite so harshly. The message Kill sent, however unintentional was that he was satisfied with the score being that close, as if they were lucky for it to be that way.
  7. Gary Anderson leaving Wisconsin for.......Oregon State? Well, all must not be right in Buckyville, after only 2 years and coming off a place in the condeference title game (albeit a 59-0 pounding, tee hee). Rumour has it Bucky is on the cheap with it's assistants pay packages, ranking behind Iowa, Nebraska and our beloved Gophers, none of which pleased Anderson and was a major reason for Bielema heading to Arkansas (none too soon I might add). A few admissions issues had Anderson in a kerfuffle as well apparently but whatever the reason (which is not because Anderson is from that part of the country , like Alvarez is spinning), going on 3 coaches in 4 years is not the way to sell stability to recruits. Hopefully a few commits will see the smoke rising in the distance and head for the safety of other B1G schools, especially ones from Minnesota. Looks good on them.
  8. Yeah, 25 in playoff ranking but out of the polls, really the only reason I'm annoyed is because Nebraska is in, please. First New Years Day bowl in my lifetime, pretty exciting!! Just as happy for you long suffering old fellers as well!! (looking at you too Chief).
  9. Well deserved for coach Kill and all the players, Go Gophers!!! This makes up for the Gophers getting dropped out of the rankings, but I'm still pissed.
  10. Porcello? Really?.......you lost me.
  11. I found the mention of Kansas City interesting, granted Alex Gordon's and Lorenzo Cain's don't grow on trees but at least they recognize the types of outfield defenders they need to compliment the pitching staff they have. How does signing a 39 year old RF who has clearly lost several steps and moving an arguably worse defender to LF help a pitching staff that desperately needs to rely on good outfield defense?
  12. Space exploration….pfft, like that's important. I bet NASA thinks Richard Branson is a prick.
  13. He's essentiially worked with Claeys and Limegrover since their Div II days. I think the point though is that if either of those guys left Kill is enough of an X's and O's guy to capably replace them with someone who's plan best fits the athletes he's recruited, he knows the game. Incidentally there is a great two page spread on Kill in the latest SI.
  14. I agree, Torii initially answered the question like a pro....and then turned into Torii.
  15. Exactly, I'm well aware of Torii's history of squarely planting both feet in his mouth, my comment is more related to the numerous people commenting on how "unfair" Berardino's line of questioning was. Those types of questions should come as no surprise to Hunter, regardless of the time or place, yet he's still the perfect example of how not to act.
  16. Was that lesson one in the Torii Hunter "How to be a professional" handbook? You're at a press conference, where people ask you questions, you'd think after playing for so long and being interviewed so many times Hunter would be a little more adept at responding to such questions, but ego is a powerful thing. If Torii can't stand the heat of a game that is played at the centre of the public eye, he should get out of the 10.5 million dollar oven.
  17. Seems to have got along just fine without him though.
  18. Really rather bummed by this move, count me in the camp who believes Torii's mystical leadership traits are pure hyperbole, he's a complete egotist. Arguably the worst outfield defense in baseball and this is what Ryan comes up with....for 10.5......yuck.
  19. Poor officiating played a role in the loss, it's not the primary reason, Wisconsin was just better, but not by much and not for long. I think a salient point related to officiating is that the Gophers earned some respect this year, it will help down the line with how the officials view them and treat them, it matters.
  20. . Couldn't agree more.
  21. Proud of the Gophers, I really enjoyed the season, Kill has done a great job and the future looks bright. Should finish the season ranked, great accomplishment.
  22. It's actually not mind boggling. If they don't make it a short field goal makes it a two TD game. They have to give their defense a chance to create a turnover,
  23. That offensive line is bloody good as well.
  24. Here's another news flash, Melvin Gordon is really good.
