  1. Personally i wouldn't give up all kinds of prospects for a pitcher. What would it take to trade for a starting pitcher who's obviously a better option in the playoffs than Ober? We also aren't going to have money to pay this pitcher next year so trading for a pitcher with term is kind out of the picture. Alternatively, i would look at trading Kepler for prospects because he won't be back and we have such a wealth of outfielders who are ready now and ready later. Trade for two good relief pitchers. One right and one left.... or two left!
  2. Im not sure i see it that. Buxton consistently struggled for 2 years with his knee injury. And now that he's healthy he's slowly got more and more comfortable at the plate. We might have something cooking with this lineup if he is back for good. Imagine Buxton back to his full form, Lee at 2nd, Correa hitting like this, and Royce!
  3. I would like to see Zebby Matthews moved up to AAA to see if he can't become an option later on in these season. He's been lights out at high A and AA this year and moving him up a level could make him an option for a team that is short on starting pitching depth.
  4. He's back on the 60 day injured list along with Matt Canterino.
  5. It was a mistake last year to try and play through it. They should have had the second surgery and tried to get him back for the second half of the season. He was simply not effective in that state.
  6. That's just the thing. The guy isn't going to be traded. If he's healthy and producing we'd be crazy to trade him. If he's under performing and injured we couldn't move him.
  7. Im not convinced that no team would ever trade for him or never would. Other teams were lined up to offer him more money than the Twins when he was a pending free agent despite your suggestion that he never has. Im not saying that right in this moment he's tradable. Probably not due to his performace. But one season of being somewhat healthy and performing to his ability and we could move him.
  8. Im not worried about whether Polanco or Kepler can net us a starting pitcher. You can trade them for the best packages of prospects you can get and then trade prospects in a seperate trade for a starting pitcher that helps us.
  9. Where would Bailey Ober rank on the twins top 30 if he were still considered a prospect?
  10. Do we know where the twins top 30 prospects will start the season?
  11. I don't think we would be trading young controllable cheap pitching. Don't trade any pitchers right now. We can take the approach of seeing what we have. Sure we may need to trade an outfielder because we can't keep them all on the roster. But other then that why not see what the current collection of players gets us. If we can't be in a playoff position with some padding at the deadline then we look at trading away some players who are pending free agents. If we are in a good position then we look at what it out there that can help us win a playoff series. We look for top 3 starters or perhaps more relief pitching. Id like to see us try and hold onto Kepler to see how his offensive numbers profile without facing shift before trading him. But that might not be possible.
  12. No reason to herald Miranda as entrenched at 3rd base. I bet both Lee and Lewis will have a lot more defensive value at that position than him. Miranda long term is a guy who occasionally plays some third but mostly DH and 1B.
  13. I would keep Sonny Gray. Give the team the best chance at having a good season. You can always trade him a the deadline if the season isn't going well. Even if they trade for Lopez i would keep Gray. He helps us.
  14. This is really amazing new for the Twins. We now have the ability to have a window to compete. And that window is currently open. Now lets go out and get Pablo Lopez.
  15. Did Carlos just say goodbye to the hall by coming an average hitting 3rd basemen rather than circle back to the Twins. Mets with the luxury tax are essentially paying 55m a year for an average hitting 3rd basemen.
  16. It might be more important that they have him early in the season with Pineda and Hill out. Could be part of some bullpen games and such.
  17. I support this decision. He could be brilliant in the pen this season and having an extra talent like that is going to make the bullpen vastly improved over last season. Compared to the pre trade deadline bullpen this group is vastly improved.
