  1. Hats off to Chelsea! for the courage she has shown to battle skin cancer, divorce, career set backs & last but not least the loss of her dog. The support of a pet dog is so important in coping w/ sufferings plus losing that support is very grievous. On top of that, to battle for the start up independent ball deserves the admiration from all who love the sport along w/ all who participated w/ her. God bless you!
  2. Totally agree, he needs to perfect those pitches that`ll make him a great pitcher as a starter. We could use Pressley especially last year but in the near future that trade will pay off nicely, Alcala has my vote also once he gets his control down. Sorry I haven`t forgotten Graterol yet
  3. I was surprisingly pleased to see them in 2nd place because they are so under rated by the pundits. But IMO they are #1
  4. It was great to see the Twins play! It was a good game, although rosters seemed a little lopsided
  5. Like those Twins rejects especiallyGardy! wish them well when they`re not playing the Twins.
  6. W/ MLB cutting minor league teams & draft drastically reduced, Independent teams will have to carry the slack. Higher caliber of players will flood the Independent leagues. Hopefully new Independent teams will spring up especially if the Saints transform into a affiliation of the Twins. & what will happen to Veek?
  7. Good point, Patrick. Last year Odorizzi in his 1st 60 days was dominate, better than Berrios. Odorizzi has been improving every year since we got him & they know how to use him ( he pitched by far, less innings than any SP except Pineda) so I believe this shortened season will greatly benefit him.
  8. I too don`t understand why so many people want to get rid of Rosario. Yes, he seems to be over aggressive at the plate & too lackadaisical in LF but he`s still by far the best we have in that position. Many want some up coming bat to take his place but they are more suited to play 1st base or DH which we have such a glut, I`d like to trade one or two of them which would be a much better trading chip than Rosario for a ace or potential ace. It seems like Rosario is serious about changing, healthy & he still has a great arm. So I`d give him a chance to prove himself (he has the tools to do it) & if he does, I`d keep him
  9. We have to have a true CF to substitute Buxton, Kepler is much better in RF & it takes a lot out of him to play CF. That kinda leaves Wade, Celestino or Lewis whichever one proves the most he can hit in the majors.
  10. I`m all for this piggy-backing especially in the beginning of the year. I like the matching of LP/RP but I don`t like Chacin as the 5th starter (I`d prefer Dobnak or Bailey) yet again it`s early & there`s a lot of shaking that can happen. I can see Berrios go solo very quickly & hopefully Hill before the end of regular season but the rest I`d like to see some form of this strategy to stick
  11. Great article, but I believe Chris Archer won`t be pitching this year due to a surgery he elected to do prior to the agreement to start the season
  12. One of my favorite Twins, he gave his all for them, often played hurt. I think it broke his heart when he was traded. Wish him well
  13. I would love to see our top prospects play in St. Paul & would even be better if they still keep the same atmosphere. I hope they don`t continue in NY., like Doc said Lincoln,NB would better 2nd choice
  14. Donaldson, Hill, & Cruz have pretty much peaked, hoping to remain healthy w/ Donaldson being top tier (offense& defense) . Rosario & Garver could better some; Berrios, Kepler, Polanco, Sano & Buxton have not come close to peaking yet, All have proven themselves & could become top tier but Buxton has much more up side. Arraez needs to prove himself his sophomore year but he could be an elite contact hitter.
  15. Something I forgot to mention was when I saw Buxton in the photo, he seemed like a different person. W/ fierce determination like he was ready to not only break out but explode
  16. Interesting comparing slime to May but you got your point across
  17. Buxton still has a lot of untapped potential, when he get`s it all together watch out. He`s exciting to watch, expecting a lot of excitement from him this year!
  18. As much as Garver would love to play every day, he has acknowledge he needs rest. Much like Cruz has learned. Hope everyone gets their share of rest so at PS they are all peaked & rested
  19. In 2018, Garver proved to me that he was going have a great 2019 both offensively & defensively. He exceeded all my expectations, if he hadn`t got hurt before All-Star he should`ve been on the starting roster. Even w/ the injury, that could have ended someone`s season, he came back quickly & strong. His strength, discipline & determination really impresses me, so I believe he`s going to come back strong in 2020 w/ no regression
  20. My Condolences, Sorry for your loss. Friendship is a precious thing, we don`t know how much until we are w/o it. Some of my best memories are in baseball & MN. I took some culinary classes in college as an elective, proved to be very valuable
  21. I read that, too. Rich Hill has been a question mark for me. It`s great to see him ready to go. Pineda seems a little out of shape, hopefully he`ll be ready when his suspension is up(w/o using any more weight loss meds). Wes Johnson wants to go w/ a normal 5 man rotation, I think in the beginning especially for this group of starters, I`d prefer to see them to be be more creative & ease them all in slowly. Berrios it wouldn`t take long to be ready to go 7 & much later down the road, Hill should be ready. But the rest, I`d be ready to sub on short notice. In this scenario, the pitchers would be totally refreshed & all pitchers would be adequately exposed to MLB before PS.
  22. Welcome back! We are ready to hear baseball from you! They should have paid you for promoting their song instead of penalizing you. Go figure
  23. I was serious on both counts, I wasn`t trying to make any argument. Like I said, I know many Native Americans that are not offended by sports team Indian names but if the real Native Americans are indeed offended then the clubs should change their names. I am also honestly offended by the Twins & Twinkies name for reasons I stated. I love the players throughout the years & will continue to support the team even if they don`t change their name. I just thought it`d be nice to have their name changed, my opinion only
  24. Though I`m a very diehard Twin fan, I`d like to see our baseball team change their name. Twins name came from Cal Griffin & "Twinkies" to me is offensive. I`d prefer the name "Lumberjacks" or "Bombers"
  25. I agree w/ Doc, I have a lot of Native American friends that aren`t offended by the Indian names of sports teams. But that`s not to say that it isn`t to others, that said I think that a real survey should be taken by real Native Americans (not by white university professors) & the results should be taken seriously & every disputed team should change their names if which would be deemed offensive. I have Viking ancestory & I`m not offended by our football team even though the vikings were very barbaric & did horrific things
