  1. MLB Batting Averages by Count. So when the umps blow a call? ...it has no effect on the outcome of an at bat? Stats don't support that idea...not even close.. Count Batting Avg (AVG) On-Base % (OBP) Slugging % (SLG) 1-2 .160 .171 .248 2-1 .325 .503 .548
  2. They have absolutely no impact on the outcome of any game in the history of MLB...yep...gonna have a hard time defending that. If you really believe that, you’re not watching the same game as the rest of us. The numbers, the pitchers, the coaches, they all say it matters. But hey, don’t let reality get in the way of your opinion.
  3. That was a rare event. I've been to Dodger stadium dozens of times,.I feel safer there than downtown Minneapolis, at least night games.
  4. He walks Betts, then gets squeezed by the umpire...sometimes mlb is just hard to watch. A strike gets called on Clemens that's clearly below the knees...Festa threw a beautiful pitch...ball 2.
  5. Home Run #2: 411 feet Adjusted for sea level: 411 ft × 0.90 = ~370 feet Borderline: That’s enough to clear the left field or right-center power alley at Target Field (ranges from 328 ft to 367 ft depending on direction), but not dead center or deep gaps.
  6. Hit the ball he did...2nd homer probably stays in the yard everywhere but Denver. But it's a start. Regarding his comments...you never know which version of Lewis is going to show up, on the field or in front of a microphone. Fine wine or spoiled milk?
  7. 100% agree...getting to MLB is just one step. The minute you think..." I've made it"...the decent is on. Talent is never enough. I think of Mauer who worked hard in the off season to keep up vs a guy like Sano, who in my limited view, coasted on raw talent. One was a stud....the other a dud.
  8. RpR, i am thankful for your sense of humor which is often found lacking on TD.
  9. Whatever word you want to use for a desperate team trying to fleece another desperate team...im open to suggestions.
  10. Twins are a desperate team looking for another desperate team.
  11. Only reason is to showcase him to increase his trade value...desperate teams do desperate things.
  12. I call this an 80 for 60 line up. Thats when: 80% of this line up would bat ninth for 60% of the other team in MLB. *EDIT: 80-for-60-for-40 40% belong in AAA. **EDIT#2 First two innings prove my point.
  13. He has no options regarding being "open"...so reading between the lines,.he means: I’m open to whatever. I'm just here to grow my mustache, give up the occasional bomb, and try not to get yanked before the 6th inning.
  14. Since the answer to the headline question is so obvious, I have my own question. What do the Twins and a sunburn have in common? They both get worse the longer you sit and watch.
  15. "Twins losing 5-10, which is the number of players they might trade away at the deadline." After the Dodgers series and an 0-6 start to the second half, hopefully the number is 10.
  16. That song hits harder than our lineup with runners in scoring position.
  17. This season reminds me of having a root canal...you just want it to be over ASAP.
  18. Sources say almost as much as naming right for venues. That seems high. My guess is probably about 50% of venue rights. And of course. Teams like the Yankees/Mets/Dodgers are raking in 20-25 million per year for stadium rights, Twins are only making 5-6 million.
  19. First naming right for venues fell. opps... The first thing to go was pure white boards in hockey...then venues...now jerseys. What's next? Mound Visits brought to you by TUMS. THEN: The Minnesota General Mills Twins vs the Seattle Boeing Mariners.
  20. It border line delusional to think the Twins make the playoffs. If the bats come alive, another starting pitcher will go down. If the starters hold up, the bullpen will implode. If the pen holds up, the bats will go cold.
  21. Paddack gave us… well, technically, he gave us innings. It wasn’t always the kind we hoped for, but they were… innings. His era in his last 7 games is 8.55 But to support your point, he is giving us more innings.
  22. Seriously...what would Boston demand to get Alcala back? I would be afraid to ask.
