Hmm...in today's world I would almost like to see TK managing remotely. TK in a rocking chair, iPad in hand, might actually bring more common sense to the dugout. At least you’d know he wouldn’t burn through six relievers before the 7th inning stretch. 😀

Julien is still young. The problem is pitchers figured him out with offspeed stuff, and he hasn’t adjusted. If he can get back to using his patience and on-base skills, he brings something Clemens doesn’t. However, he will have to prove himself by winning a job during spring training next season. It's highly probable he can't play himself back to the majors...another Miranda.

A Minnesota Twins Fan’s MLB Playoffs Cheering Guide
Sjoski replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
My favorite two teams are the Twins and whose ever playing the Yankees. But...will go with the Blue Jay's with Varland on the mound winning it all in game 7.- 28 replies

Exactly....this is what the Pohlads know and why they will never sell until this loop hole is closed. ● Because losing teams still collect shared revenue and enjoy rising franchise values, there’s little financial pressure to compete. Owners of small-market or “rebuilding” teams can effectively guarantee themselves profits even while fielding a non-competitive roster.

Derek Falvey’s Pitch for Hope in Twins Territory
Sjoski replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
"The foundation remains strong"??? If you compare the 1986 team that turned it around to win a World Series with the 2025 team!?? From the : A) Players: Puckett, Gaetti, Hrbek, Gagne, Viola, Blyleven, etc, etc vs Buxton, Lewis, Lee, Pablo, Ryan, etc B) Front Office: Andy MacPhail vs Falvey C) Manager: TK vs Rocco I see little to no potential for a 1987 like turn around for the Minnesota Twins in 2026.- 64 replies

Who would have loved to hear how the decision to finally run more came about. Maybe it went down like this: ●●● Falvey: “So, Rocco, we traded most of the bullpen away, a couple of decent bats. Any ideas on how we score runs now?” Baldelli: “Well… what if… hear me out… we run?” Falvey: “Run? Like… run fast? Around the bases?” Baldelli: “Yeah, like stealing bases. It’s this ancient baseball trick. I read about it in an old manual from the 1980s.” Falvey: “That sounds… risky. What if someone pulls a hamstring?” Baldelli: “What if someone scores a run?” Falvey: “…You might be on to something. Let’s try it. Worst case, people will say we waited seven years to discover legs.”

Because that makes to much sense!! MLB seems scared of fully pulling the trigger — they want to “ease in” with challenges. But honestly, it just creates another layer of mess when the real solution is to let the tech call balls and strikes on every pitch. By 2027 season...it will be fully automated. Hopefully 2026.

Articles like this, and the comments that follow only highlight how dismal the outlook is for Twins baseball in 2026 and beyond. Until NEW ownership replaces this front office with talent and fire their sleepwalking manager, a 2026 roster projection is just about learning how to stomach mediocrity. Twins fans deserve so much better than the endless cycle of Pohlad's cheapness and excuses.

Minor correction. In 1969 and 1970 mlb playoffs...first round was best of 5 series. Baltimore swept the Twins 3-0 both years.

Spending $30 million to “improve” the Twins roster in 2026 is like pouring an overpriced engine additive into a car to boost MPG from 4 to 5. Technically an upgrade… but you’re still stuck with a clunker.

Sands gives up 4 hits, 4 runs, blows his 4th save, and earns ( cough cough) his 4th win. His record is now 4-4. Era 4.27

Twins Turn to Cody Laweryson After Topa Injury
Sjoski replied to Parker Hageman's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Cody will be the 26th pitcher to pitch this season for the Twins. Can anyone here even name 16 of them? More triva: The Seattle Mariners set a Major League Baseball (MLB) record by using 42 pitchers in 2019. That broke the previous mark of 40 pitchers used by the Mariners in 2017 and the Texas Rangers in 2014. The Mariners used a total of 67 players in 2019, also a record.- 14 replies

Twins Time Line of Doom 2023…Season of hope ends in joy First playoff series win since 2002. Fans dared to feel optimism. 2024…Season of hope ends in sadness Expectations are high, but the team disappoints. Fans feel the sting. 2025…Season of sadness ends in indifference Continued mediocrity and disorganization. Fans stop caring as deeply. 2026…Season of indifference ends in a fan base completely checked out. The doom and gloom only ends when all three are gone! Pohlads-Falvey-Baldelli

A buddy of mine live a hour apart. Most years we meet up at Target Field to take in a game together. This year, instead of going to the CWS game we decided to met half way at a Menards and look at all the cheap discounted $%&# they have on the clearance rack. Sometimes the real memories are made in Aisle 37B, right between the dented patio chairs and discounted toilet seats.

Seems to me MLB needs to revisit the idea of a tweak. Back in 1969, MLB lowered the mound from 15 to 10 inches to restore balance after the ‘Year of the Pitcher.’ With today’s game dominated by strikeouts and velocity, should MLB consider another tweak, like adjusting mound distance or height, to bring the sport back to a similar sweet spot between pitchers and hitters?
