  1. Re: "Would have been a first rounder if the draft was in February" What changed between then and now? Murder charge?
  2. Also, if Royce Lewis had a 80 Power Tool, none of would have questioned the pick.
  3. I'm sure someone has done the analysis, but it would be interesting to see a chart showing percent chance that any given pick (ie. 3rd pick, 44th pick, 190th pick) accumulates 3 career WAR (or whatever the "right" number is). What I suspect it would tell you is that you'd rather have the 50th-54th picks (all 5 of them) rather than the 5 guys you'd get at your regular slots over the first five rounds.
  4. I'd say pretty close to the odds of a 2nd rounder.... which is only slightly higher than the odds of a back-half-of-the-first-rounder
  5. From MLB.com Here are the top 10 players -- including eight prep players -- left from the Top 200 Draft prospects list: 29. Blayne Enlow, RHP, St. Amant (La.) HS 30. Nick Allen, SS, Parker (Calif.) HS 39. Tanner Burns, RHP, Decatur (Ala.) HS 45. Jacob Heatherly, LHP, Cullman (Ala.) HS 48. Evan Skoug, C, TCU 52. Alex Scherff, RHP, Colleyville Heritage (Texas) HS 53. Tristan Beck, RHP, Stanford 54. Garrett Mitchell, OF, Orange Lutheran (Calif.) HS 55. Daniel Cabrera, LHP, Parkview Baptist (La.) HS 56. Jacob Pearson, OF, West Monroe (La.) HS
  6. Because maybe they really like him and there are, you know, other teams that might also like him
  7. Damn! Bert calling out the minor league coaches
  8. Not that it matters at this point, but the shift killed us in those first two hits off of Wimmers
  9. At some point these strikeouts by Sano are going to get annoying as S--t
  10. Nice job mejia. You're truly terrible tonight
  11. Gamel is like Grossman with long hair
  12. Rosario, Vargas, and Kepler undrafted
  13. Seriously... couldn't Mauer steal home there?
  14. It's clear that Bert has absolutely no idea how the draft works
  15. To all the "Boras" comments.... he always wants to maximize his client's earnings, which is exactly what agreeing to a below slot deal at 1-1 could do. Of all the guys to make deals with at 1-1, Boras would be at the top of my list.
  16. Love it. You don't make that pick unless you have a plan. I love plans.
  17. Thank goodness. I was getting super confused by Nick Tepesch and Nik Turley
  18. Does a triple play fall under the GIDP stat or is it lost in no-mans land?
  19. Why is Alex Meyer so worried about Max Kepler running?
  20. With how things have gone for us recently, I assume this will be 7 shutout innings for Alex Meyer.
