  1. This team is laughable! Made the right decision turning the TV off for the rest of the season. Cleveland? It's all yours for the taking!
  2. That's it. I'm done with this team. They could go on a win spree and finish 20 games ahead of the second place team. They could win their divisional series, the AL pennant, and the WS. But I won't be watching them. This is simply a repeat of last year's debacle, and I'm sick and tired of it. I see no reason why anything will change with this team until some major changes are made, i.e., trade Correa, Kepler, and Gallo for players who can hit with consistency, fix their pitching talent starting with whoever advises them on talent, think about a switch at manager, and on and on. Good luck Minnesota. I wish you well in your days ahead. Let me know how it turns out...
  3. Now there's the Twins we all know and love!!! Correa 0 for 5 (I include the weak dribbler he hit to Munoz in the ninth). What's he making this year? $35M? Think of the relief pitching we could've gotten for that! Sometimes I wonder why I even waste my time....
  4. What's with Joe? He seems to be letting in a lot of runs lately. C'mon Joe. We need you!
  5. You have to be able to read to understand the jokes.
  6. No one said it's over. I'm just saying "IF" you're going to end a four game win streak...
  7. Well, if you're going to end a four game win streak, this is one way to go.... Incredibly inept bullpen work tonight.
  8. J Moran. HE's our man. If he can't do it, anyone else can...
  9. Too many extra inning games. Can't we just close this one out!
  10. And the bats are alive in Target Field!
  11. Way to go Julien!!! Perhaps there is hope yet!?
  12. Starting pitching was great in series against Orioles. Duran is a quality closer. He just had a bad game today. All's forgiven. But the bats still need to produce in critical situations. Another 8 LOB today. Not good enough. C'mon Twins. You're better than that!
  13. Have to say, that was comical to watch. Although no doubt I could pull up quite a few "errors" in judgement/play for the Twins this year as well. And Sox, Royals, and Cleveland all have lower errors per game averages than the Twins (ranked 20th). It's just an awful division!
  14. "Cleveland has a bullpen as bad as the Twins, has hitters worse than any Twins hitters, and Cleveland had the final disadvantage of not getting to play Oakland or Colorado in the final week of the season like the Twins will." And yet here we are with the Guardians currently in a virtual tie with the Twins. I don't think your comments are born out in the results. At least not so far. And for my part, I'm kind of tired of waiting...
  15. Finally the Twins have the Cleveland Guardians (and others?) right where they want them! That sounds like a derisive cliche. Not really. It's my opinion that what the Twins have needed for some time now, assuming they still have any thoughts about winning the Central Division, is a good swift kick in the pants (or slap in the face?). Now that they've relinquished the divisional lead to the Guardians, perhaps player attitudes and motivations will change? The Twins will now have a real challenge staring them in the mirror every time they wake up in the morning. Going to the ball field to play a game will have a new meaning to this team. Rather than a mindset of trying to hang on [to a slim lead] for the rest of the season, they'll be fighting to get back into the title position... and keeping it for good. It might take some time, but perhaps the Twins will look back at this moment as the most important in their season so far. I'm counting on it...

  17. Given what we've experienced from the Twins so far this season, I see no reason why anything should (or will) change. With that in mind, I honestly believe the Twins are done for 2023. Anyone of the the three closest teams behind them (Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago) is capable of passing the Twins over the remainder of the season. If you ask me who that will be? Likely Cleveland or Detroit (maybe both?). And as of this posting, Cleveland is only a half game back with three games in hand. It's over. What makes this doubly hard to take, is the fact that the Twins have had close to half the season to figure things out, and have not done so. I like Mr Baldelli. I wish him well. But he's one of the big reasons this team is not getting it done. I understand baseball is a transient game. There is an ebb and flow. And yes, we can point to many other issues. Correa's and Kepler's underwhelming play. Continued bullpen woes. Injuries. And on. But IMHO, it's ultimately the coach's job to make adjustments and win games. He's not doing his job. When I'm not doing my job, I'm fired. Period. So I'm changing the channel from here on from MLB to the NFL in preparation for an interesting season of football. If/when the Twins decide to make some real corrective action, then I'll consider changing the channel back...
  18. A win is a win. I'll take it. But 9 LOB today?! Very troubling and a problem for some time (last 3 games it's 16.0!). They'd have at least 10 more wins if they could lower their LOB per game average by 0.25.
  19. I'm not a pessimist, but I would not be surprised at all if Twins lose 5-4. I'm tired and am going to bed. We'll see what the morrow brings...
  20. Men at second and third with no outs and they can't bring em home. Have to say, I couldn't think of a better visual as to why the Twins are a sub-par team. They'll be lucky to win 75 games this year. Ho hum....
  21. It's not about being loud or yelling. It's about accountability. I can calm down after my initial statements. Can the Twins find their way to a divisional title? Based on what I've seen so far, I have my doubts.
  22. Okay. So we agree. They're not a Championship caliber team. What does that have to do with playing to your team's (or as an individual's) full potential, which they don't seem to be doing right now? Accountability isn't reserved to Championship teams. Players and coaches need to start being accountable. Period.
  23. I'm tired of the inconsistencies and excuses. This team needs to get it's s*#t together and start playing like a championship caliber team should. Hitters need to produce offense to support their pitchers. Pitchers need to win the tough late inning battles. Defenses need to stop making blundering errors at key moments. And coaches need to shake things up in the clubhouse and get in players faces. So much talent on this team, and the rest of the Central Divsion is practically gift wrapping the Twins the pennant. And they're squandering the opportunity. Now start playing some real baseball or get off the frigg'n field!!!
  24. I think time will tell. But in retrospect, getting rid of Donaldson was a necessity overall. He was a costly player to have on the roster, especially considering his age and injuries. I'm glad we have Correa!
