  1. My wish list for the rest of the season. (1) Twins pack it up and clean house in the off season. (2) Rocco leaves and the Twins find a new coach (3) Twins come back in 2025 with a fresh start
  2. Jeeze. Doesn't anyone get tired of seeing this crap???!!! I've had it. Good nite Marie.
  3. Hey I'm not high on Detroit. But I say give em credit for hanging in there and taking advantage of the Twins (and others) bungling their chances. Anyone who disses Detroit because of the media's doting on them is just a plain sad sack. Children that tend to throw tantrums when they don't get what they want.
  4. I'd say the Twins are indeed finished. Mathematically they're still in it. But I don't see it happening. Too many other better teams in the mix and time has just about run out. Luckily I set my expectations low. So, I'm not feeling too bad about it. There's always "next year"! Ahem...
  5. My suggestion. Stop deluding yourselves. Start thinking about what the team (front office) has to do for next season to make this team better. The Twins are done. Get over it...
  6. Perhaps. But it's a defeatist attitude for a defeated team. 'Nough said...
  7. What are we talking about here?! It's an interesting statistics problem. But do you seriously think the Twins have any real chances of making the playoffs the way they are playing right now???!!! You're welcome to live in your dream world if it makes you happy. I choose to move on and stop wasting my time with false hopes.
  8. So, who's to blame? Can someone please tell me? Cause I'm tired of all the excuses. I've had enough of this team. From here on, I'm devoting all my energies to the NFL. Good night Mr. Baldelli. Please remember to turn off the lights when you're done...
  9. Eenie Meenie Miney Mo, Rocco B. has got to go! Pretty pathetic. The clock continues to tick...
  10. I'm pretty tired of all the excuses. Injuries and miscues are part of the game. Great teams find a way to overcome them. The Twins are NOT a great team. This season is over. Period. Hope you like football or hockey...
  11. Embarrassing display. The Twins by-passed medium rare to go straight to charred.
  12. Pitching has always seemed to be an issue with the Twinkies. Starting or relief. It tends to amplify when offensive players are put on IR (more recently Buxton and Correa). Put your $ on the Royals. They are a legit contender. The Twins are done.
  13. Well in that case, I guess the Twins get what they deserve. Huh.
  14. In my opinion, Coach Baldelli has to accept much (a majority?) of the blame for the sloppiness aspect. It's okay to play loose and have fun. But the Twins are an error prone team. Is it more practice? More disciplining? Do they need a motivational speaker who lives in a van down by the river? I don't know. But it's Rocco's job to figure that out. Or can him in the off season. It's that simple.
  15. Interesting article and concept. But what's the old adage, "You make your own luck." I don't believe in being "lucky". But I do believe there are moments that make it appear a team or player or situation could be viewed as being "unlucky". All that aside. The Twins are just not good enough this year. Period. They're competitive yes. But their streakiness (is that a word?) says volumes about the core inconsistencies of this team. They can win 3 out of 4 on the road one week. And then follow that up by losing their next 4 out of 6 (and 2 out of 3 to a sub-500 team... at home.). Cleveland may not win the division. But the Twins certainly won't. I like KC's chances and they have a VERY good team. Good enough! And IMHO, if they don't trade away Buxton in the off season for someone who can contribute and stay healthy for more than half the season, then the front office is smoking something (can I have some of that!). And for that matter, same with Correa. 'Nough said.
  16. And THIS is supposed to be a team that's going to do great things this year???!!! They'll be lucky to make the playoffs....
  17. All I know is he played for the Minnesota Twins!!!
  18. Hey all. These aren't photographs! It's very difficult to capture a person's precise facial features in a high profile metal plaque. And a hundred years from now, no one's going to care about the depiction as much as the amazing accomplishment of the player. Just sayin...
  19. Sorry. But I've seen nothing to indicate that the Twins have enough to get to the WS, let alone a wild card spot. I know it's early. Lot's of season left. And the Twins have had some bad breaks. And recurring injuries. And... Blah-blah-blah. Even when I try to keep a positive attitude, it starts to sound hollow. It sounds like last year. And the year before. And so on. Don't know what it will take to get there. But it ain't gonna happen this year. Alas...
  20. I'm done. A good nights sleep, and all of this nonsense will be forgotten.
  21. As usual, Twins show they're sheep in wolves clothing. They can beat up on the lesser teams, but when it comes to the big boys, faggetaboutit!!! Ho hum...
  22. This team is laughable! Made the right decision turning the TV off for the rest of the season. Cleveland? It's all yours for the taking!
  23. That's it. I'm done with this team. They could go on a win spree and finish 20 games ahead of the second place team. They could win their divisional series, the AL pennant, and the WS. But I won't be watching them. This is simply a repeat of last year's debacle, and I'm sick and tired of it. I see no reason why anything will change with this team until some major changes are made, i.e., trade Correa, Kepler, and Gallo for players who can hit with consistency, fix their pitching talent starting with whoever advises them on talent, think about a switch at manager, and on and on. Good luck Minnesota. I wish you well in your days ahead. Let me know how it turns out...
