    I guess I just don't get the Twins organization. Or maybe just the business of MLB in general. In what other business or organization (other than perhaps politics?) do you hire a person, give them all the tools they need to succeed, watch them regress in their performance over a six year period of employment, and then give them a vote of confidence to return for their seventh year??!! Good for Mr. Baldelli for pulling the wool over the heads of the Twins ownership/GM. You fooled 'em bud! I will now devote the 2025 season to routing for anybody, ANYBODY else, in MLB other than the Twins. My fervent hope is that they do a nose dive into last place and we can end this charade for good. I'm sorry folks might think this is harsh. But I place my support in teams and organizations that make every effort to do the right thing to be successful. Results, bad or good, are the proof as to whether those efforts are worthwhile or not. In this case, they've obviously fallen flat. It's my opinion that a change is needed at the source. Maybe it even starts with the GM. I don't know. What I do know is that Mr B. has had 6 chances to get to the big dance (I consider the WS the big dance, not a Divisional title). He's failed 6 times. A shame we have to live thru this for one...more...year... before something gets done.

    Congrats to the Tigers and the Royals. They did what the Twins couldn't! I think 2025 is going to be an awful reminder of how badly this team has squandered it's talent. Move 'em to a city that cares...

    My wish list for the rest of the season. (1) Twins pack it up and clean house in the off season. (2) Rocco leaves and the Twins find a new coach (3) Twins come back in 2025 with a fresh start

    Hey I'm not high on Detroit. But I say give em credit for hanging in there and taking advantage of the Twins (and others) bungling their chances. Anyone who disses Detroit because of the media's doting on them is just a plain sad sack. Children that tend to throw tantrums when they don't get what they want.

    I'd say the Twins are indeed finished. Mathematically they're still in it. But I don't see it happening. Too many other better teams in the mix and time has just about run out. Luckily I set my expectations low. So, I'm not feeling too bad about it. There's always "next year"! Ahem...

    Pitching has always seemed to be an issue with the Twinkies. Starting or relief. It tends to amplify when offensive players are put on IR (more recently Buxton and Correa). Put your $ on the Royals. They are a legit contender. The Twins are done.

    In my opinion, Coach Baldelli has to accept much (a majority?) of the blame for the sloppiness aspect. It's okay to play loose and have fun. But the Twins are an error prone team. Is it more practice? More disciplining? Do they need a motivational speaker who lives in a van down by the river? I don't know. But it's Rocco's job to figure that out. Or can him in the off season. It's that simple.

    Interesting article and concept. But what's the old adage, "You make your own luck." I don't believe in being "lucky". But I do believe there are moments that make it appear a team or player or situation could be viewed as being "unlucky". All that aside. The Twins are just not good enough this year. Period. They're competitive yes. But their streakiness (is that a word?) says volumes about the core inconsistencies of this team. They can win 3 out of 4 on the road one week. And then follow that up by losing their next 4 out of 6 (and 2 out of 3 to a sub-500 team... at home.). Cleveland may not win the division. But the Twins certainly won't. I like KC's chances and they have a VERY good team. Good enough! And IMHO, if they don't trade away Buxton in the off season for someone who can contribute and stay healthy for more than half the season, then the front office is smoking something (can I have some of that!). And for that matter, same with Correa. 'Nough said.

    Sorry. But I've seen nothing to indicate that the Twins have enough to get to the WS, let alone a wild card spot. I know it's early. Lot's of season left. And the Twins have had some bad breaks. And recurring injuries. And... Blah-blah-blah. Even when I try to keep a positive attitude, it starts to sound hollow. It sounds like last year. And the year before. And so on. Don't know what it will take to get there. But it ain't gonna happen this year. Alas...
