    This is a great summary - thanks for continually providing more interesting information. With the Twins struggling the prospects provide a nice diversion.

    Very interesting and informative - thanks for posting this! Glad I ran before I read this today - now I am going straight to the couch and propping my knees up.

    I had his baseball card when he was the Twins manager - one of the few last names that started with a Q. I didn't realize he was so young when he managed. Associated with the Twins for most of his career in a variety of roles - sounds like a wonderful life.

    Sano and Buxton sure have a troubling history of injuries and this is when they are young - what is going to happen when they get older. Combined with winning 1 of 11 this is putting a dark cloud on this season and future ones. Hopefully something good happens soon and we don't have a repeat of 2016 when just when you thought it couldn't get worse it did.

    Ever the optimist I always think that this next series will be different against the Yankees - yet the same result keeps happening. At least I won't be able to watch the rest of the series.

    Hopefully we show up in one of these Yankee games - these butt-whippings sure take the fun out of baseball.

    Dozier, save the grounders for when no one is on base and the HR's for when they are on base please.

    I believe I read in the very excellent series preview on this site that the Pirates bullpen was weak outside of their very good closer. Good insight I am glad to see us take advantage of!

    One thing I will add on the Gregorius pitch was that Castro was set up mid-to high outside and the pitch came in low and to the inside. So Castro had to move his glove down and to the right. Definitely was a strike according to their strike box but from the Umps live viewpoint you can see why it looked low. If Castro's glove was set where it was pitched it probably would have been a strike. This can be used as an argument to automate the strike zone to remove that human misperception. It also shows how off Santana's control was as he was missing Castro's targets in the first inning.

    Well it was a really good season! Somewhat bitter but expected ending with the usual performance against the Yankees.

    On the bright side - all of our pitchers are getting postseason experience. Boys this is how you get battered in New York if you make the playoffs.
