  1. Should be a fun series. Despite their shortcomings, I think that KC is a really fun team to watch. Mondesi and Merrifield are two of the most exciting players in the AL IMO. Keller has issues with his command but actually has semi-solid stuff. Gibson is gonna have to make sure he can navigate the top of their order (which isn't that bad TBH) and clean house with hitters 5-9. Excited for a fun weekend of ball!
  2. LOL, I think this ump is ready to get to the airport
  3. Once again, championship level lineup proving their mettle and resilience. Also, this team isn't winning a playoff series without at least 2 more bullpen arms.
  4. This team is beyond screwed come playoffs if we don't add 2 legit bullpen arms, minimum.
  5. This bullpen has 1.5 trustworthy arms...Roger and a half of Harper (not ready to fully commit to him given his small sample size). Honest to God, I just assume at this point that if any reliever other than Rogers enters the game in even a borderline high leverage spot, they will give up a run. It's like clockwork.
  6. May has had ZERO command of any of his pitches this year. Really frustrating because I think he has the stuff to be good, but my goodness...come on. This entire inning is happening because he can't throw his breaking ball for a strike. Teams just sit fastball and crush it.
  7. Berrios is clearly "off" tonight, let's hope gets settled in. Amazed that he's gotten out of these first three innings without giving up a run... Let's get the bats going
  8. Pretty sure my first choice would be Amir Garrett. I think he's an absolute stud on an upward trajectory. Giles is having a great season but his shaky history scares me a bit. He definitely has the stuff to be elite as we're seeing this year. Felipe Vazquez is going to cost a boat-load but I'm not necessarily opposed to making a deal if it's there, the guy is a beast. To me, Will Smith is a rock steady, non-"sexy" option which is completely fine and I would be 100% ok with acquiring him. Don't think he offers the upside of the others but he would immediately become Rogers equal in the 'pen. I really don't foresee a deal being made within the division so any talk of Diekman, Hand, Greene, Colome, etc. doesn't seem realistic to me. Which is too bad because the other teams in our division each have a reliever or two that would look great on the Twins.
  9. Just posted this in the Nick Nelson weekly wrap thread, but the truth is that we have more than enough ammo to go out and make a few trades if Falvine decide to do so. A combination (to varying degrees of course depending on the return) is more than enough to land starter and/or a bullpen arm or two. Larnach Balazovic Duran Gordon Cave Rooker Arraez Wander Javier Enlow Alcala Moran Rortvedt Gonsalves Thorpe That's a pretty solid and deep pool of prospects to draw from to get something done.
  10. Great wrap, per usual. Thanks for putting these together! I'm very much looking forward to monitoring the trade market over the next 6 weeks. 11. Twins are extremely flat today. Lineup has struck out 9 times through 6 innings. Gibson gave up 5 runs in 5 innings to the worst offense in the MLB (yes, Detroit has scored fewer runs than even the Marlins ). Whatever, it happens. Hope the bats can get going here in the 7th, 8th, and 9th.
  12. Not breaking any news here, but this ball club is not winning a series in the playoffs with this current bullpen. Period. End of story.
  13. Pineda is getting ahead of these hitters with the fastball and then just hanging sliders on 0-2, 1-2, 2-2 counts...he has no "finishing" pitch. He should just be out there challenging them with the fastball.
  14. How many innings have to be played for it to count as a game? re: potential rain delay
  15. Here we go, buckle up...
  16. May's command has been completely and utterly non-existent all season long...Really disappointing
  17. Only 4 swing and misses from Perez's 92 pitches....woof
  18. Man, that vaunted Cleveland lineup is up to their old tricks yet again!
  19. ooooof, Sano didn't even sniff any of those three pitches. Hader is incredible
  20. Man, this one ain't looking good with Hader likely to pitch the final 2 innings. Bullpen still really concerns me. There have been almost zero high-leverage bullpen innings (good thing!) recently and it's really disappointing to see them drop the ball here in this game. For as good as Rogers has been, he has given up more hits than innings pitched this season and has a WHIP around 1.40 on the season. That ain't elite...
