  1. My favorite "lack of load management" story. In 1961-62 Wilt Chamberlain averaged 48.5 minutes per game. NBA games then (like now) were 48 minutes long. Wilt played in ever regular season game and in 10 games that went into OT. (He did get kicked out of one game due to getting a second technical foul. Those were the only minutes he missed all season.)
  2. I'm afraid we might see all these guys today.
  3. Maybe the best play I've seen him make.
  4. There are definitely timing his fastball.
  5. Not a lot of good options for lead off. Maybe try Polanco.
  6. Taylor? Seems like he's played every game,
  7. Hopefully SWR's off-speed stuff will eventually be good enough to offset his fastball, which today is only touching 92.
  8. I thought we might see JLopez here.
  9. Miranda, Correa, and Buxton approaching the Mendoza line.
  10. Stolen bases and SB% are up significantly. The Twins are not built to take advantage of the larger bases: https://www.si.com/mlb/2023/04/17/stolen-bases-rule-changes-increase
  11. Twins' team batting stats across MLB: tied for 21st in runs scored, 19th in BA, 27th in OBP, 24th in slugging PCT.
  12. It's definitely a band box in right and right-center.
  13. And Larnach is on a 4-23 streak with 11 Ks.
  14. Good inning by Lopez getting through the heart of the Yankees' order.
  15. Apparently it's making a comeback: https://www.nj.com/yankees/2023/03/reggie-bar-is-back-yankees-fans.html
  16. Sano started as SS in the minors and is available. Kidding!
  17. They moved Gordon to 2B (and he made a nice play.) I think that was the intended upgrade.
  18. Yeah Buxton was way out of the baseline.
  19. Good morning, good afternoon, good night!
  20. Nothing like a walk off seeing eye single that would have been a DP if the shift was allowed.
  21. This article by Tom Verducci points out how speed and small-ball seem to be a strategy again. The current Twins are not built for this at all, which is a problem. https://www.si.com/mlb/2023/04/05/diamondbacks-padres-mlb-new-rules-stolen-bases-speed
