    can't have big leaguers that strike out 30% of the time....I don't care how many home runs they hit....shorten the swing...hit less Hr's and drive the ball.......or he will be replaced in the next couple of years....

    Might as well tear it all down...and scuttle the season...with Labor stoppage next year....take a 2 yr savings.....trade Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers.....cash the check from the Dodgers....hopefully team gets sold to owners who care!!

    one more year...then a lockout...no Baseball in 27.......something will get worked out... then hopefully the Pohlads will sell and get owners that will invest in the team....until then they might as well sell everyone off and just tank.... cash the checks from the teams that pay a luxury tax...and look at empty seats....

    Let's start w the following assumptions...... - there will be no 2027 season due to work stoppage, (or significantly shortened) - The Twins are a sub .500 team in 2026 We need to trade all assets that have limited contracts remaining...build the farm system...and wait for the new labor landscape....drop the payroll as much as possible and let compete w colorado and White sox for most losses this season.... Trade Ryan and Lopez...have the honest conversation w Buxton....and any other major league asset you can move out..... Going to be long year either way...so might as well build some hope and talent in st. paul!!

    makes sense to carry the three catchers, DH one of them...rotate at first base....split bell between first and DH, Jeffers C and DH, Caratini C, 1st and DH

    putting them together...trading both Jax and Varland was a huge loss......needed one to be the backend not only this year....but next year....Varland was the cheap answer...to keep budget low....turn him into a closer and get a better package for him...

    Hard no a Wallner, hitting .202 is not major league level talent......Larnach not worth the arbitration level...if you can get him for less.....

    Clemens is a .216 hitter.... NOT A MAJOR LEAGUER!!!!! Stop talking him up....... he has no place on this team..... Hated the Varland trade.....would have kept him and made him the Closed or closed in training the rest of this year and given him a chance at the job next year...... Martin is a 4th outfielder at best....but probably a career triple A guy.....fill in type...can play D, hit a little, no power.....

    Sorry Clemens is a AAA player..... hitting .218 is not a mlb bat......... Martin is at best a platoon player, 4th outfielder......first year in a long time...didn't get to a game....not sure about next year....

    First Question you have to ask yourself..is who would want the job? until ownership gets out of the way (new ones in town) they are destined to be bottom feeders.......they need to focus on player development....back to being a triple A team that plays against major leaguers......at least we aren't the White Sox!!

    ok..this group has to realize....Matt Wallner is not an MLB caliber player.....he is hitting .202....plays terrible defense...he needs to go away....and we need major league hitters.....

    Wallner has to hit better than .209......don't get the love for him...yea he can hit a few HR's......but you have to get on base.....if you cannot hit .250 you don't belong in the majors....

    you must be young....remember Calvin???? Pohlads were seen as major step forward....they are selling to minimize capital gains....capture the Gains after the step up and limit capital gains tax.....

    ok..maybe a left handed starter is a good thing....but varland could have moved to the setup man this year, and have the chance to be the closer starting next year...must have been something between him and the front office.....having a closer at league minimum for 5 more years of control would be a huge benefit.....Don't understand this one...but see what this looks like 5 yrs from now....

    twins kept their starting pitchers...hardest thing to get.....players traded other than Carlos....could all be back next year (they were all free agents to be).....still the hard to understand trading all three potential closers....one sure..maybe even two for awesome deals.....but keep Varland at a minimum...move him to setup man for the rest of the year..and slot him as the closer for next year....now starting from scratch in the BP for next year.....get the team sold and hopefully new owners make a commitment to winning....

    would look to move either Duran or Jax.....best deal I like both....but time to reload....then move Varland into the setup roll.......This team isn't going anywhere...time to build for the future.....Coulombe..if it's the right deal of course.......hold starting pitching never have enough..and w Lopez not healthy he would be the one to move and give the money to the younger guys..... Also look to move position guys you can get prospects for....and cut salary..... if they can finish around .500 that is a good year for this team......

    would flip 1 and 2......and 3 and 4...... Killebrew, Carew, Morneau, Mauer....might even put Hrbek above Mauer.....

    Want to see him stay.....or wait another year and if he has a big year return will be better....forget the idea of getting a catcher...it has to be for Pitchers....that is the only way this team competes....you have to get young pitching...or another Lopez type.....

    They need to spend in the 150 range to be competitive.......would love to see Santana back at a reasonable salary..5 mil or so.....but you are gonna have to spend.....then try and keep guys healthy.....

    Julien is a triple A guy.....injury fill in....not an every day major leaguer......no room for him on the 26 man roster of a good team......

    move Festa to the Pen now...bring Varland up to take his spot.....with it being clear he will move to the pen for the postseason....since we only need 3 starters for the playoffs...then you get both of them in the pen for the playoffs..if we can hold it together that long...growing experience for both of them...

    twins are a playoff team but not a contender for a title...but lots of young guys up and coming.....get the TV situation figured out.....then spend a little more...they will never be a player for top end guys.....but build with solid vets.... and up and coming guys.....The Pohlads have made their money on this team (pd 44 million for it...now almost 2 billion)....so should spend mid road every year....and be competitive....but not serious WS contenders......it's what mid market teams do....

    but not at $10mil/yr.....back up catchers should be a couple of million/yr......and having another yr of this is terrible for a team on a budget!
