  1. Nothing falls but raindrops -> Everything falls but balloons
  2. Yeah, it did seem like a bait and switch thread to me. The OP grabs you with an "in memoriam" opener and the first response post is a political hook about the new bad guy.
  3. Not really. Ariana Funes-Diaz was a victim of the types that they want to keep out with said policy. Angie Valeria was a victim of the policy to a degree. Ultimately, she was a victim of poor decision making by her own parents. The OP sensationalized the story by stating that she tried to save her father. After reading the article, it sounded more like she didn't want to be separated from her father. The OP also stated that people are "being forced" to make these decisions. However, after reading the article, I found no evidence of a gun to anyone's head. I mean they wanted their own home, but that probably isn't a good reason to risk a toddler to the current of the Rio Grande.
  4. It's sensationalism to push a political agenda.
  5. For every Angie Valeria, there's probably an Ariana Funes-Diaz. Probably don't need an entire thread for this person.
  6. I'll have a pregnant rabbit and a rattlesnake ready for the welcome party.
  7. Anyone have the stats on all the hits that Gibby gave up in the 7th? Do Buxton/Kepler make outs on any of those? Astudillo's foul catch was good, if not a little goofy, but he is in over his head out there.
  8. I see finding out the lesser of two evils is the story in right field today. Astudillo's glove vs. Cave's bat against Snell. I'm calling an Austin Meadows triple.
  9. If I remember correctly, the last time Snell faced the Twins, the Rays had just come from a series in Detroit. Snell himself looked like he had been drinking from the Flint River. It was one of his few very bad starts that season. There is precedent!!
  10. He was part of that rangeless keystone combo with Astudillo in the Red Sox game that Baldelli basically gave away. I love Arraez, but not at SS.
  11. Not really concerned about Astudillo or Cave being the option, but I hope Buxton is back ASAP. The Twins need that D boost.
  12. Cincinnati swept Houston ... Castillo could easily shut down that Cleveland lineuo
  13. Which is why I'll never vote for a Yankee regardless of how deserving they are. Judge's stats are a joke for an All-Star finalist and make a mockery of the whole deal.
  14. This is ... Nevermind, the rest of this post would have violated several rules on the TD Comment Policy.
  15. Does Sano have any options left? If so, he and Cave can go back to AAA tonight.
  16. Mondesi is nursing a groin injury, so his havoc-wreaking ways may be limited (if even available) .... Add in the Dozier injury and not having to face Keller .... The Twins need to take advantage of these unfortunate events for the Royals and come in guns-a-blazin'!!
  17. Definitely want to see more from Poppen ... He was overthrowing and definitely didn't have the Smeltzer ability to stay cool in his debut, but 95-97 with late movement will play at this level, if harnessed. Not a big fan of Arraez at SS .... Polanco got his day off, so I hope he can just play all the games at the 6 until Adrianza or Gonzalez return. Sano needs a day off. Give Arraez a turn at 3rd tonight @ KC and see how he looks there. Baldelli definitely favored rest over results in this rubber match. It's a long season, and you can't argue with the results so far, but now the double-digit lead is gone. This team needs to go down to KC and come back with 3-4 wins, because it will be right back to a series with a contender when they return.
  18. Gibby looks sharp out of the shoot. Need lots of those types of innings.
  19. Well, here's to hoping Poppen doesn't go all Romero and fail to get an out when asked to provide some length. This seems an appropriate, if slightly dirty, intro ... if he gets the call:
  20. I wonder if the Twins will have any interest in kicking the tires with Allen on a minor league deal right now. I see they just signed Ian Krol to one. Falvey should be well aware of Allen, so I guess we'll see.
  21. Also 12 Ks to 1 BB .... I still want some moves to shore it up, but there are some promising options .... Duffey and Littell definitely need longer looks
