  1. 2nd paragraph should be "dominant" instead of dominate.
  2. Remember when we beat Bieber and Plesac just a short time ago?
  3. It's not fun. You don't have much time to get out of the way.
  4. Berrios has pitched extremely well in his last two starts, which were close to "must win" games to hold on to the #4 seed, and both against two very good teams. I think he is more prepared for postseason success this year than years past. That said, Kenta will be the game 1 starter and definitely should be.
  5. This is the largest strikezone I remember seeing in a game in a while.
  6. This is on the offense. 1, 2, 3 runs in a game is not enough. Lots of terrible at bats.
  7. I'm hoping Rocco would leave Maeda in another inning or two in a playoff game. But I doubt it, since this basically is a playoff game. Give me another inning of Maeda over Matt I was a waiver claim before the start of the season Wisler.
  8. Agree that Josh was being stupid.
  9. Buck needs to hit leadoff. Or third.
  10. I thought for sure he would bury at least three straight breaking balls in the dirt to Robert. Nope.
  11. Wait, is Joe West behind the plate tonight?
  12. Yep. Not even at the ump. On the plate. Ump called strike one on him on a pitch that was at least three inches outside. Josh expressed some dissatisfaction with the call. Then homered on the next pitch.
  13. Hit a HR, kicked dirt on the plate as he was crossing. Stay tuned for the Jomboy media breakdown tomorrow.
  14. Ryu has been very good. Maeda has more innings, more K's, a lower whip and ERA, but Ryu has a higher war (probably bc of facing better division); Ryu is 4-1 with a 3.0 ERA. They're about the same age. Of course, Maeda is much, much cheaper and doesn't have an injury history like Ryu.
  15. The Yankees also did nothing. This was definitely a different trade deadline, with only a couple teams making significant moves. It's 2020. This year is different.
  16. No real use speculating now. #2, #3 and #4 will be whoever is pitching better in three weeks. Berrios' stuff is just too good for him to not figure it out and see better results. Dobnak is a gamer and has only one hiccup bad outing this year. I'd probably trust Pineda over Odo if both pitch well down the stretch, just because Jake will have had so few outings. His FA walk year has been very disappointing.
  17. Blankenship? Are you a running fan? Ben Blankenship is a former gopher, sub 4 miler and pro 1500 meter runner. I can infer you mean Travis Blankenhorn.
  18. How are the Angels so incredibly awful with Rendon and Trout and LaStella all hitting? Cruz is out of HOF discussion because of the PED positive anyway, but does a theoretical triple crown this year +an mvp and a productive year next year vault him into fringe category? He doesn't have 500 hr's or 2000 hits but both are possible.
  19. I was thinking this as well. There will be some teams, like the Rangers, Giants, Phillies, where if I was the GM I'm trying to play for future full seasons where there's no doubt the playoffs will actually finish. Why buy for this year when there's a chance half your team could get COVID 19? I'd sell if I can, even if I think we might be in the expanded playoffs. Unless you think your team is a definitive world series contender this year, sell. There is so much uncertainty.
  20. More innings, better WHIP, more strikeouts I'd guess.
  21. Mine would go to Cruz, but both Maeda and Dobnak have been elite. Maeda has been untouchable for multiple innings at a time. I'm more than surprised at how well he just knows how to pitch.
