Aerodeliria replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
That's the key. Last night he went right after the hitters.- 29 replies

I'd take Stephenson if they put him on the chopping block. It might cost a little more than I'd like but we could use his arm.

BTW, I finally got a chance to see some highlights. After Kepler's walk-off, the Boston manager and coaches were furious. They ran after the umpires and were yelling. Does anyone know why? Did they think Kepler's ball was foul or was it a balls and strikes thing?

Hey, if we put this game in last year's frame, I doubt we even take into extra innings. We lose in nine. We came back and really got some incredible pitching from the likes of Parker, Magill, Duffey and especially Littell. Nothing can be added to what Kepler did. Rosie was also delivering big time as well. I do hope it's bit easier tomorrow. My stomach can take these games in combination with my duties here on the job.

Article: Zack Littell Changes Role, Changes Mindset
Aerodeliria replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Littell pitched an amazing two innings against one of the best hitting teams on the planet. Mega-kudos to him, and of course, the faithful here at Twins Daily are pulling for him. (I liked his approach against the BoSox. Just come right after the hitters. Let the 97 mph fastball do its work. He deserved the win just as much as anyone else and I'm glad he got it.)- 29 replies

I gave him some credit; I mentioned his walk. I was just fuming that he got picked off. I just felt this was almost like a playoff game (for atmosphere), so he should have been more alert and that he should be very grateful that the bullpen and Kepler bailed him out. Granted, he did catch 17 innings, which I should have mentioned. As I said, it's hard to stay mad at him anyway, especially when considering his OPS.

What a WPA for Kepler!!! Clutch Kepler! Arraez kept doing what he has been doing. It is really hard to send him back down AAA. Pineda was great, and Littell improved his stock value greatly. Parker was still scary even though he got through one inning. Sano and Garver were the obvious goats. Garver had two big blunders in this game. The first one was really bad. He's not a speed threat, so why he gets caught wandering off 3rd simply means he wasn't attune to the gravity of that situation. He should be buying Littell a steak or two for saving his bacon and another couple of steaks for Kepler. (In his defense, he did work a walk that led to a tie game, so I can't stay mad forever.) Sano only needed one more K to tie the MLB record (Martinez for the BoSox was also one whiff away from tying the record). He needs a game or two off to reset.

Wow. The Twins played three games' worth compared to Charlotte-Fort Myers. Willians still wants that call up!

Article: Potential Prospect Cost in Twins Trades
Aerodeliria replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
With that said, at the moment I think Stewart and Wade look like Dollar Tree items to me. Gonsalves maybe a step up and Rooker probably another step up, but they all could be part of a package deal.- 51 replies

I hope that injury to Hildenberger was the source of all of his troubles and now if he can let it heal, maybe he can return to form? The bullpen is certainly a big concern, so getting the previous version of Hildenberger would be great.

Me too--I mean the part about Cruz hitting. As for the bunting, I'll let Polanco decide that on his own. I did want to mention that on a contact play like that, Schoop has to keep running. He starts hitting the brakes as soon as the pitcher fields it. The play with an underhand shovel is going to be much-much closer than he probably realizes. Once he started hitting the brakes of course, he was dead in the water.

I always like Rocco's perspective. Tomorrow is another day, and the Red Sox are much better than their record.

Welcome Twins to the bitter taste of reality! This is what the playoffs feel like. Time to buckle down. Forget about how the start of the season went for Boston; we're now playing the real Red Sox who take no prisoners.

That was ugly. Yesterday was also ugly, but the Twins put up the "W," so everyone forgot that the defense played quite poorly yesterday as well (excluding Marwin's catch). You can point to the pitchers, but whenever the fielders allow extra outs, it puts that much more pressure on the pitching staff. Five errors in two games; plus some less than stellar plays in the field to boot (according to all accounts); the Twins are lucky to get a split.
