Who else do you think the Twins could have gotten for Grateral? Teams aren’t out here trading #2 starters, let alone #1’s, for guys who aren’t even top 50 prospects.

Control is way more important than velocity. That’s why you almost never see guys who throw 100mph with no control have success, and why guys can who throw 88mph with good control be productive.

Assuming health next year we will have a playoff rotation of Berrios, Odo, Pineda, and Hill. That’s a lot better than Berrios, Odo, Dobnak, and a bullpen game. So i think at this point we are in a little better position to compete in the playoffs, and still have time to get even better.

I really like the Hill signing. Dude has a chance to be a great addition down the stretch and potentially a legit postseason starter, all with no risk. Bailey I’m fine with as the 5th starter.

Can’t wait to watch Graterol close out our World Series victory!

I doubt Gordon would have been enough. The kid they got is a top 100 prospect by some rankings and has huge potential. Gordon will probably be a good player but doesn’t have nearly as much upside

There’s no guarantee they win the game even if May doesn’t give up that homer. And the Twins had chances to make other plays that would’ve helped them win but couldn’t execute.

I think that’s because the FO thought that Romero would be able to help the Twins out of the bullpen early this year. Whereas Alcala isn’t gonna be up this year anyway so there isn’t much harm in waiting a little longer to see if he can become a good starter.

Man Rooker has a really nice looking swing. If he can get that strikeout rate down he’s gonna be a heck of a player.
  10. Splash45
It’s pretty crazy that we have like 6-7 hitters is AAA that I would be comfortable getting called up and playing if there was an injury on the big league squad. Lots of hitting depth in the org right now.

From what I’ve read he seems like the lefty version of Brent Rooker

The box score is saying that he inherited 2 runners and neither of them scored

Does anyone think it’s possible that we bring Gratoral up around mid/late season and put him in the bullpen? I feel like that would be a good way to get him acclimated to the big leagues and help strengthen the bullpen at the same time. Then you can move him back to starting next year and let him compete for a spot in the rotation.
  14. Splash45
He only threw 90 pitches yesterday and around 75 the other 2 starts. He’d be going plenty deep into games with 100 pitches.
  15. Splash45
It sounds like they told him to be ready to go up if needed before deciding to go with a De Jong instead. This probably isn’t all that rare.
  16. Splash45
I can’t imagine that 84 wins gets a wild card spot this year
  17. Splash45
Do you think any of the under the radar bullpen guys, such as Harper, Collins, Eades, etc, will make the opening day 25?
  18. Splash45
Adrianza/González are good enough to hold down SS for a couple weeks of Polanco were to get hurt.
  19. Splash45
There is a lot more to scouting then just looking at stats. If that’s all they had to do anyone could be a scout. Maybe they see something in Jeffers swing that makes them think he only deserves a 45 hit tool right now.
  20. Splash45
Assuming they all pan out I would guess it would be either Javier or another prospect/FA. Lewis will be best somewhere up the middle to utilize his speed. Polanco doesn’t really have the arm for 3B. And Gordon might be good there defensively but probably won’t hit enough to justify playing him at 3B.
  21. Splash45
If Gordon is hitting like he did at AAA last year they won’t want to call him up, and Astudillo and Arraez can’t play short. I’m not saying it’s likely he’s needed in the bigs but it not out of the question either.
  22. Splash45
If we lose 2 middle infielders at some point during the season we very well could see Rosales get brought up, so it’s not like there’s no shot he gets called up.
  23. Splash45
If he’s out 7 weeks he’ll be back right around opening day...not sure how that should have any effect on if the Twins should go all in or not.
  24. Splash45
Is LaMonte Wade not in consideration? I think he’ll be a better player then those 3 long term.
  25. Splash45
Maybe he prefers writing to working for a baseball team? Or maybe the pay at ESPN is better then what he’d get with a team? Just because he works at ESPN doesn’t mean he doesn’t know what he is talking about for the most part.
