    I'm for adding to it (prospects) at the current deadline. There's 2-3 (maybe more) that likely will be on the Twins 26-man roster by the next deadline. A few pitchers who may be starters or good BP arms and a couple of corner IF that slug and if could be a fun run.

Now to take care of bizness with two struggling clubs coming to Target field. Make Tom and Jeremy sweat the deadline!

    The current top 15 looks like by far the best I've seen in a long long time. Most are in AA or higher and the ones that aren't have big upside. I realize some won't work out. But there is a lot of quality and quantity.

    I'm not there yet but am leaning that way as well. To many hits on pitchers counts and homer issues same as Varland. He just needs a little more of something. 🤷‍♂️ More ride or rise on his FB? More deception in his delivery? Just middle middle and way too often. 🤷‍♂️ BP may be the answer, may also make him a what could have been.

    Wallner is the next Rooker only LH. IMO. The Twins don't have a spot for a full-time DH with Buxton likely needing that spot on the roster. Yes, I know about Bell. Most AAA players see at least a .100-.150 point drop in their ops when coming to the majors. Jenkins .846 OPS says to me not quite ready yet. Close but not yet

    I agree. But then I look at the other one's minor league career numbers and say maybe he is the right guy till E Rod can manage to get and stay healthy. Wallner has a better OPS but the SO rate...well yeah.

    Isn't about where his in now? Don't get me wrong. I'm a little skeptical about Roden as well. But don't forget there is/was Larnach, Wallner, Martin and technically still Keacshall and Clemens. Between him and a 26-man spot. That's a lot of hurdles and yet here he is an old man at 26 and on the team.

    The poor corpse of the Varland trade..I mean, can we kick that damn horse a few more times? Varland was a borderline set up guy in the 2025 pen. Jax was always the 1st choice to bridge to Duran. Is the Bluejays BP coach on the Twins staff this year and last year to get him to where he is now? There are so many variables to players having success. CAN we please move on. Roden has 21 AB in MLB this season. Rojas has pitched a total of 19.1 MLB innings this season. Abel 20.1 innings in MLB. Outman is a part of the fire sale? Stewart has managed what? 20 innings since the trade? If you can't move on there's a gallon of sour milk in the fridge, help yourself....

    I'm firmly in the don't waste the prospects column for this season. But I too have the itch to hope they try and go for it. Just in a much smaller way then 2 of the 3 you mentioned. Luis Garcia would be a nice add to the team. I don't think I'd part with GG for him but Gallager and say Rosario or DeBarge. A little buy and a little sell is probably the best way to go this season. IMO

    Why not a 3-way trade for Peralta, Gausman and Hoffman? Going to cost a top 10 prospect and the Pohlad's will want some $ headed to the Twins. Go big or go home. I think that fits.

    I agree on the top 4. As for the others... I'm far less certain I'd be will to move any of the others for anyone without years of control. I get it, it's been a much more enjoyable season than I expected. If you're going to keep most or all the band together and take a shot at it. I'm trading from the lower 1/3 of the prospect list. 1-2 rental BP arms should fit in that range. Now if you're looking for another starter and a nonrental. OK there's a name or two I'd consider. Because the name is popular on the site. Let's say Reid Detmers. I'd be willing to move Tait or E rod, due to redundancy, plus lack of options for E Rod, I'd guess it'll take Matthews and at least one more from the 15-30 range as well. That's a pretty high price for a 25% chance to make it into the playoffs this season and a 10% chance to get through the WC round. Honestly, I'd rather reinforce the DP with rentals, take a shot at it with the current crew and save my bullets for next season. but that's just me.

    I'm still excited about all three. They've all had down seasons. Maybe I'm making excuses for them... Gonzalez has actually improved his base numbers since April/May. I suspect working on 1B D is taking away from last year's focus on offence. It's his avenue to MLB with the current Twins team. So not too concerned. Tait. His big tool is coming through loud and clear. The power is legit and the hit tool...well let's hope. Not anything new. If the Twins were forced to pick Roch instead of Lackey, would we be talking about it? Hill. Not sure what to make of the BB deal this season. If I remember right, he was giving plenty of them last season. But a substantial increase this season. Too much tinkering? Hit a wall at A+. IDK..At least he's been mostly healthy unlike Soto. I read the E Rod stuff. I'm rooting for him. This health thing is becoming increasingly frustrating. He's got Juan Soto plate discipline and Buxton power. But a whole in his swing like Larnach against a leftie. Your guess is as good as mine.

    I like your thinking here. But the article says before adding. The title says without adding anything. I 100% agree with adding RP. Especially an 6-8th inning leftie imo. But I think he's looking for upgrades already on the roster. Go needs another 5-10 appearances before I would consider moving on. His stuff looked decent. I also saw the one leave the park. So, I get it. Due to the wasteland of starters in AAA I think you almost have to keep Paredes in a starting role. Whether with the Saints or with the Twins. When Prielipp is healthy send him down and bring up Klein, Culpepper of one of the others on the 40 man. Caratini and Kreidler are prime regression candidates with their bats. Kreidler has already started. May be best to leave alone. I liked the suggestion of promoting Houston. I mean if we're looking for good or better D but light hitter, we could do worse. It should be K Culpepper. But who knows how long a sore A$$ will take to get better. Not this guy! Need to go 10-6 min before the deadline. Starting tonight. If they do, then time to add and maybe subtract. Need at least 1 more BP arm (preferably 2) like say AJ Minter and a starter. No, not Skubal... Red Sox and Tigers are making a charge. Going to need more the 83 wins to get in.

    The Tinney pick surprised me. I'm not high on him but I'll just root for him even more to prove me wrong. I like the amount of filled out pitchers they drafted. Hopefully they just need a little refinement, rather than to adjust to their growth i.e. filling out and refinement. My pick for fast mover is Burns. I have to root for a fellow Wisconsinite! He went to HS about 30 min from where I live. My pick for ending up being a steal is Teel plus it rhymes!

    I noticed that as well. Picking middle linebackers rather the tall skinny point guards. Maybe that skips the "When they fill out" part? To the post, Burns is the steal for me. Every bit a BP arm. Some coaching and a little luck and he could be a dandy SP. If not he's a BP arm to keep an eye on. Teel is an interesting prospect. Probably gets a little down note due to Twins current crop of OFr's. A lot there to like.

    How soon could Lackey be in the majors?...One of my kids just asked from the back seat. How much further is it?😉 Sometime in 2028 is my guess.

    The biggest surprise for me is how bad the AL is as a whole. But for the Twins. I agree. Bradley has been a big surprise. I thought maybe a #4 or#5. he pitched like a #2 and that's because Ryan has been so good. Imagine if Lopez was healthy and doing his usual thing. That's a tough top 3. Clemens is well on his way to being the team MVP. Bux #'s say it should be him. But the flexibility pushes him over the finish line just a whisker ahead of the Buck truck for me. It's hard for me to point to any one Twin for the defense. There are just too many bat 1st players on the roster. With all the changes in the field I'm willing to do a wait and see on that as a whole. Also, this is part of why I think Clemens is the team MVP. Forgot 1 thing on the positive side. IDK who should get the kudos. They have made a point of we have to be better on defense and are trying to fix it. That may be the biggest surprise of all..

    I'm not overly worried about Tait. This year's draft picks may or will join him there. Lackey and Tinney are 1-2 years older than him. That's a ton of ABs, innings played, hundreds of hours or practice and boatloads of working with coaches. Way too early to get down on him, also rule 5 draft? He hasn't been Twin for a full season yet. Jeez relax. In 2-3 years when Lackey takes over starting catcher and Tinney takes 1B after Lewis gets paid elsewhere and he's the BU catcher. The next season Tait can join them as BU catcher and platoon 1B with Tinney. All will be good.😉 Oops forgot about Diaw...I love his bat but don't think he is an MLB catching prospect. Kinda like Keaschall. I'd rather see Diaw in the OF

    One thing I wonder about is Lackey, Tinney, Tait and Jimenez should all be in A or A+ to start next season. That's a lot of talent needing ABs. Maybe a little 1B/DH/Catching? I should point out Jimenez is one of my heavily rooting for guys from last season's sell off and draft. Fan Graphs has Tinney and Tait rated very similarly when it comes to tools. Which surprised me a bit, of course, Tait is a year and 1/2 younger though. Lackey was their #1 prospect in this draft. Jenkins, Lackey then Culpepper. We're talkin 1.000, 1.001 and 1.002. Tough problem to have...

    Interesting article. My 2 cents is he'll slot in as #2. Top 25 nationally. If he had the same grades and was IDK..CF?? let's say for the sake argument, he'd be between 3-5. If he plays, this season, or next. AA is likely the best outcome for him in 2027. Much like Houston. Jenkins, Culpepper and Emanual Rodgriguez ahead of him today. Unlikely by the end of the season. Late 2028 starter or ROY 2029 starter at C is my guess

    Pretty happy with day 1. So far, they seem to be picking big dudes. Vahn 6'2" 215, Tinney 6'4" 240, Renfrow 6'3" 220, LaPour 6'4 245. I'm not going to pick through previous drafts but it seems like these guys are more filled out then previous drafts. No 6'5" 175 lbs. guys so far. Meaning all power forwards

    Holmann is looking like a good signing last winter. Luis Fradoza and Justin Mitrovish seem like they have A ball figured out. Time to see the corn fields of Cedar Rapids soon?
