  1. It isn't one thing, it's been 2 months of poor command. Honestly, if we are talking Duran, he hasn't been a ton better either, but not as bad as Jax
  2. 1/4" off the barrel of the bat away from a tie game. No Jax, no way during the playoffs. I think the guy has the talent. And I think at some point he comes back as dominant. But it ain't happening now. Next season if we want to try him high leverage again, go ahead. Please don't lose us a game in the playoffs though this season.
  3. It doesn't even matter what happens here, I think it's plain to see that Jax should not come into a close playoff game. Lean on Varland in his role. He's much better any way you slice it.
  4. His command is gone. Walk #1. He will walk at least one more this inning. Let's just hope they hit it at someone.
  5. Not sure who's available right now, but also not sure I want Jax in there either...
  6. His spreadsheet told him too. Works 1 out of 10 times, every time.
  7. How are we going to win this game. Awesome
  8. Larnach just has to not strike out here. Pull the damn ball.
  9. And that is why having guys with speed on your roster is so valuable in playoff type of tight games. Castro. Stevenson. Speed kills and is SO valuable in a close game.
  10. Yes, but rest him. Same as Lewis. I want them as close to 100% as possible for the playoffs. IMO these 2 are your best offensive player and your best defensive player. Both guys literally can and will save or score you runs in the playoff. Don't rush back guys. This division race is over. Be healthy for game 1 and let's roll.
  11. I like the idea of him back as a bench bat. But don't really like him hitting, then being subbed for again right away. I think they will bring him almost no matter what. This is just my opinion. Do they need him? Not really, but could he come up with a huge hit sometime. For sure.
  12. Hopefully Royce is OK. I would rest him until he feels good, then rest him 3 more days after that. We need that guy for the playoffs.
  13. They can just bench him. They don't need his defense, it's poor anyway. Put Solano at 1st and let's roll.
  14. I really shouldn't need to explain it to you should I? 6 feet of range one way, 50 feet of range 3 different ways.
  15. You're probably right, but I'm cashing my paycheck anyway. 😁 Remember the guy that Royals used when they won their WS? I can't remember his name, but he flat out won games for them.
  16. If he gets injured he can be immediately replaced. Twins will carry a few guys in street clothes to be ready for any injuries.
  17. Depth is what has saved this team this season and is the only one in recent memory I can remember not having to count on guys for long stretches of time that really shouldn't be on a ML roster. I think bringing back Taylor if you can, along with Martin and Buxton to cover for him is a good plan. He can't cost that much and I just think it would be foolish to count on an oft-injured Buxton or an unproven rookie to open the season as your CF. PS NO way do I want Lewis out there. Let him stay at 3rd or even DH him if you had to. He is the best player on this roster. He's a fantastic 3B IMO and his bat need to be in the lineup as much as possible. Don't mess with him please. He needs to stay healthy.
  18. IMO, Stevenson is more valuable than anyone on that list except Buxton. He IMO, has his spot sewn up 100%. He is there to steal 1-2 bases in a series, that's it. But that is much more valuable than the strikeouts or anyone else the rest of that list gives you. He(Stevenson), will be on the roster 100%. You can take that to the bank.
  19. I doubt it. Castro and Stevenson are flat out weapons in a playoff series. I would rather have both of them on the playoff roster instead of quite a few guys. Stealing a base, going first to third or scoring on a single when you are on second is like gold in the playoffs.
  20. Meh, obviously I am going off of not a ton of playing time, and Kirby was the best IMO to ever wear a Twins uniform, but he is easily the most dynamic player we've seen here since Buxton(when healthy). PS When he hits a walk off or go ahead HR in the playoffs this year, you are going to change your tune on it instantly. This guy is our DUDE and it's obvious there isn't anyone that has come up from our minor leagues that has looked like this guy has for quite some time. He has literally just hammered the ball both last year and this year the minute he stepped on the field.
  21. I have Duran, Theilbar, Varland, Pagan right now as my Hammer guys. It's the stuff that does it for me. He looks NASTY when he knows he can pitch at full effort for an inning or two.
  22. Yes, and having an 8th inning HAMMER is just as important some games as the starter. He will get his chance in the rotation as players leave for FA, etc, but for now, let this kid throw max effort for 1-2 innings a shot and let's roll. MN product and trains at Starters too. Awesome
  23. Sure seems to have the "it" factor, doesn't he?
  24. This guy is an insane talent and seems to have ice running through his veins in big spots. If he stays healthy we are looking at an all-time Twins great. The extention and bat speed this guy has is unreal. Just excited, that's all. PS the white sox are terrible and play some of the worst defense we have seen in some time.
