    I mean, I get where you are coming from. He's good to give guys a blow, and he can hit a little. But you made it sounds like you wanted to use him as a platoon player. Yes, right now he is getting time because Buxton is out. Once Buxton gets back though, I would only like to see him play 1 game a week or less. He's a 4th/5th outfielder and if I had to choice between him and Marwin, I go with Marwin 100/100 times. In a playoff series, I wouldn't let him see the field unless absolutely necessary. I would actually even think twice about him even being on a playoff roster.

    I can kind of buy into this. If Gibson is on this team as a #3-4 guy, I am fine with it. The problem is, he was counted on to be our #2 and hasn't pitched like it this season. I'd offer him a 2 year deal for like 25 mill and see if he bites. Wouldn't go over 2 years with him though. If he gets 3-4 somewhere else(most likely will), then so be it.

    No. 100% no. He isn't that great and he's terrible in the field.

    I don't feel like one extra day of rest will do much for him though. He needs a break is what I am thinking, his arm looks dead IMO. Look what happened to Dyson when they gave him time off. He came out throwing gas and his cutter/sinker is deadly now. Maybe I am wrong, but I think the Twins would be smart to at least consider it. Getting to the playoffs doesn't do much good if your ACE that throws game one is whoofing 90mph fastballs up there and hanging breaking balls.

    I just feel like if they go into the playoffs without Berrios at his very best, they have no chance. I'd rather they rest him now while they can and have him good and ready. Right now, he isn't giving them a great chance to win anyway. Now's the time to give him that time so he can come back and dominate again.

    I think he needs it. He is getting shelled right now. Velocity down on his FB, breaking stuff lacks bite, command suspect at times. Issuing more walks. I know we are in a division race right now and you want your best guys going, etc. But he just doesn't have it right now. I think skipping 1 or 2 starts for him right now might make a world of difference for him down the stretch. Also, he really isn't giving you the greatest chance to win right now anyways. Thoughts???

    Adrianza quietly having a fantastic year. He has been an extremely valuable bench player. Glad he is with us. Good teams need guys like this.

    Bad loss and another kick in the head. So sick of losing these types of games. Make a play, pitch a clean inning! All of that said, they missed chances all througout the game game and Gibson having another short start doesn't help anything.

    Yes, it's true I guess. I just find in funny all this talk about platooning him or that he isn't a very good defensive SS. He made a couple plays in the field last night that saved them runs. He also just might be the best hitting SS the Twins have ever had on their roster.

    The game doesn't happen in stretches. All players go through hot and cold to end up with the stats they have on the back of their baseball card at the end of the year. Polanco is a stud, a cornerstone of this team and an everyday SS in this league. We are lucky to have him.

    I also thought Perez got kind of lucky last night. He wiggled out of all kinds of trouble and was having kind of a hard time throwing strikes, etc. That said, we will take it for last night. I was also VERY impressed with the way Dyson looked last night. His stuff was fantastic and he pumped strikes in pitch after pitch. If he can keep that up, it will help immensely.

    Dang well Harpers luck has run out. There’s a reason no one else wanted him. Time to shelf him or use in low leverage situations. Twins pitching staff as a whole doing the very best they can to make sure we don’t make the playoffs.

    Give credit to Billy Smith then, because he was the guy that brought in most of those guys. Has zero to do with the wunderkids.

    That’s funny that trade ask for Gerrit Cole and exactly the type of crap the Twins have been pulling for years. Holding onto guys with the upside of bench players and fill ins acting as if they are the next coming. 2 slap hitters and a reliever prospect. We fleece them if we make that trade. That’s likely the same type of deal that would have got us Stroman as well.

    And my point is that to expect an offensive output similar to this year going forward isn't very realistic either. Cruz is having a monster year. Yes, he looks great, but will be 40 next year, who knows when the downturn will come. Kepler hitting bombs like it is his job is something I will bet no one thought would happen this season. Cron producing at the level he has is also something I don't think many bet on. Arreaz being an absolute stud from day one. Wait till the book gets out on him. My point is, the stars are aligned right now and the FO did jack squat to address it. Next year, this team could go back to average offensive production, then you will need excellent pitching just to be as good as they were this year, which we are finding out might not be enough the way it is. I guess I am just frustrated with all the years of the Twins being in this exact same positions and never doing anything to supplement. Now we have a new FO that promised to add if needed, an owner who says money is no object if it will help the team, etc. Turns out, it was the exact same type of process that has went on for years here. Iron is hot and ready, our core is producing, then you add a few B-C level options that don't move the needle. Hoard prospects that may or may not ever produce. Leak information to your beat writers acting as if the prices were unattainable to get real help, then we find out teams like the Mets get a nice starter for guys that wouldn't even be in our top 15 of prospect. Just gets old thats all.

    Maybe, but the way the series went, I feel like Cleveland kind of dominated it. It was all we could do to get back into that game. We did, then they went ahead and told them NOPE!

    So, what makes you think that next year is a step back and the year after won't be? The pitching coming up? Because as of now, our minor leagues has produced Berrios and that's about it really. You know they won't trade for anyone, or buy a good starter, right? I think this year was the year and their chance. Do I think we could still be good for a few years? Heck yeah, they should be. But I don't think you will have this kind of offense again, maybe ever. Realize, what the Twins are doing this year with the bat is historic for this franchise.

    Didn't you feel it yesterday though? When Santana hit that grand slam, that was pretty much telling the Twins "YOU WILL NOT WIN THIS DIVISION" if we have anything to say about it. That was a door slammed in the face of our team and fans. There is alot of confidence over there right now in anything and everything they do. I don't feel it right now. Our best reliever had a chance to get us to the 10th with the top of our lineup up, and Cleveland abused him to win the game. Sucks, but they are on fire and we literally can't get anybody out from the mound. I do think it will be close though and if the Indians go into a slump we have a chance. Right now though, I don't see them doing anything but losing games to the Indians anytime we play them. That is the problem right there, even if the Twins build up a lead against them, it can be erased with head to head matchups.

    I would go with 3. Bring your 4th guy along in case any of the three don't handle it well and you need someone to take innings. We simply can't afford to send anyone out there in a playoff game that walks a ton of guys. I also want that Graterol kid up here. Even if he only gives you an inning here and there, he is about the only chance of a real upgrade we have. If he can throw strikes, get him up here and get his feet wet so we can see if he is ready to pitch out of the bullpen in the playoffs.

    Doesn't take a genuis to see that he probably doesn't have what it takes to be a ML starter. His fastball sits at 89 mph. That just doesn't get it done unless you have pinpoint control. Sure wish the pitching staff would have been addressed. It is just a darn shame to waste the offense we have this year. But alas. Those expecting it to change are probably in for a rude awakening. People are buying tickets and spending money. That is, was, and probably always will be the #1 goal with this organization. Too bad really, we've had some pretty good chances on a few of these teams the last 15 years or so if they had only added those last few pieces. They would cost money or prospects though. Both of which we hate to give up because FA cost money, and letting go of prospects that we can control for a low dollar amount stings them to no end.

    No one on this team is pitching. It’s pretty obvious the team gave up after the trade deadline. They know their owner and FO could care less about them or their fans
