  1. Analytics aside, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how well stocked this organization is for any injury/codid-related issues. There is pitching depth, with guys like Dobnak, Thorpe, Smeltzer able to make spot starts. Cave has proven he can play. The young hitters, like Rooker, Kiriiloff, etc., look ready to fill in if needed.
  2. Sitting here with fingers crossed, repeating "please, please...." just hoping we get to see baseball in 2020.
  3. A more interesting take would be "Best Twins Teams to Not Make the Playoffs". I know most would come from before the Wild Card Era, but it would start a conversation about how good the 1992 team was.
  4. It's cloudy, rainy and gloomy today in west central Minnesota.Devastated by the loss of the promise of baseball.I.MISS.BASEBALL! About ready to dig out the VHS tapes of the 1991 WS!
  5. It's cloudy, rainy and gloomy today in west central Minnesota. Devastated by the loss of the promise of baseball. I. MISS. BASEBALL!
  6. ...on the positive side, its fewer games until Rich Hill returns
  7. Effing Covid-19.....
  8. I'm old enough to remember the uproar when Kirby became baseball's first $3 million per year player. Musta been '89ish?
  9. No surprises here. But it's an exciting list of good, young players that show the talent depth the organization now has.
  10. How can anyone NOT root for Randy Dobnak?!
  11. We get so much of the same stuff over and over from most media outlets...can Buxton stay healthy? Can Cruz do it again at 40? Does Rosario stay or go? Starting pitching..... Articles like this are why I love TwinsDaily and check in a couple times a day to see what they're offering.
  12. We've seen enough players get rushed over the past 10 years b/c the talent pool wasn't very deep. I'll take this any day.
  13. I have zero analytical data to back this up, but from the eyeball test, it seemed like his plate discipline deteriorated over the second half of the season. Seemed like it had improved over the first half compared to past seasons. May or may not have been injury related, just saying....
  14. Exactly. Absolutely nothing hurt if they both start in AAA as depth
  15. ...to make matter worse, we live in a blackout area for Twins games, so mlb.tv isn't an option. Any ideas guys?
  16. Guess I won't be adding YouTube TV. Dropped Hulu b/c price jumped $15/month and you have limited times you can switch your location. Could be getting to know Provus and Dazzle better again...
  17. I love exploring all options to improve the club and this is well-done. No way I give up a pitching prospect for a 4th OF when they already have Cave and Wade on the roster.
  18. Fortunately plenty of depth in bullpen, so he can go to AAA and try to earn another shot.
  19. I'm going to be very curious to see how hard they ride Berrios early in the year. The past couple years they've been willing to let him throw or go slightly over 100 pitches from opening day. With the way the bullpen has been fortified, I'd have to think they may limit him slightly in April and May in an effort to keep him strong throughout the year. There also is a lot of starting depth...maybe we see a 6-man rotation at times?
  20. I'm 52. Life long Twins fan. Honestly, this is about as deep as I've seen this club.
  21. Cave is an ideal 4th OF. He can run (as in pinch run). He has some occasional pop. He's at least an average OF, as noted in the article, and can provide league average defense when he's in the lineup. If we've learned anything the last two years though, it's that Cave really hasn't been that productive in a part-time roles. Where he has been better (like most players) is when he plays regularly. Perhaps Rocco can find a way to get Cave 3-4 starts per week in order to try and keep Buxton and Kepler (who was much more dinged than anyone realized the last month of 2019) healthy.
  22. Any trade involving prospects is a bit of a crapshoot one way or the other. I have a lot of faith in this FO. They are smart baseball men. We'll have wait to see how the Graterol/Maeda trade works out. Clearly dropping Nick Anderson from the 40-man was a mistake. Trading Pressley hasn't worked out.
  23. Would love to see guys like Romero and Thorpe pitch so well that the FO has to keep them on the 26-man. I know Wisler is guaranteed money, but it's not a huge amount is it? A little over $1 million? Or am I wrong? I kind of look at what they're doing as compared to a game of darts. If you only have a couple darts to throw, your chances of hitting a bullseye aren't very good. The more darts you have, the better your odds. They're stockpiling darts. Sort of.
  24. This from a guy who, if memory serves, was somewhere between #15-20 among Twins' prospect rankings a year ago.
