  1. When Polanco comes back to replace Adrianza have Gordon come along and replace Dozier.
  2. A move that was long overdue. Why does it take so long for this organization to make moves that are so obviously needed? Now do something about Dozier, Grossman, Morrison, Kepler, Buxton, LaMarre, Wilson and everyone else that doesn't know how to hit. WOW the offense on this team is really bad.
  3. Liked Molitor when he was signed on as Manager. Why not give him a shot, see what he can do? Going thru his 3rd season, I've seen enough. Too many mistakes. Last night was very indicative of that. He needs to go.
  4. Maybe the Twins could bring in some guys like Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau and Michael Cuddyer to mentor these young players? EXCUSE me, Belisle? Brought in for Leadership? What a joke! My first thought is...... Why is a move for pitching made when it is the offense that continues to stumble? If not for 1 mistake pitch that Adrianza got last night the offense would have mustered a whole 1 or 2 runs again. Watching these guys hit is painful. A high school pitcher that throws 75-80 MPH can beat these guys. Had Gardy not done the Twins a favor and left Hardy in to pitch longer.... well? Who Knows?
  5. Outside of Grossman's homerun, just another normal game for the Twins. Rosario, Escobar and Kepler(kind of) provide some offense and the rest of the lineup got their whiffs in. Why the heck is Dozier batting leadoff? Why is Sano in the lineup? Morrison is a bust. No catcher here. How in the world was this team expected to make it back to the playoffs? Escobar was suppose to be a utility player and he's one of your best hitters? Nobody can bunt. They won't try to steal a base. They don't even try to hit to the opposite field. Shouldn't they be taught that in the minors? How to hit to ALL fields instead of pull, pull, pull. Watch Rosario and Escobar. They are the only 2 players they have that are hitting and they are the only 2 that hit to all fields. Are the rest of the players, coaches included, that blind? Gotta love them Twins, for years they had an offense that could score a lot of runs, but they didn't have any starting pitching. Now that they have starting pitching, they can't score any runs.
  6. Escobar doesn't belong in the outfield, anywhere. Funny how this organization won't bring up their best AAA players like Gordon when the player at that position goes down with an injury or in Polanco's case is suspended. Gordon should have been promoted as soon as they lost Polanco. Why is a backup/bench player, Adrianza automatically good enough to be his replacement? He's a utility player. That means he's played sparingly to give your regular guy a day of rest, not to be an everyday player. As for the lineup, Dozier and Sano should be hitting at the bottom until they start being productive. Problem is there are 5 other guys that belong there too.
  7. Can't even beat Hector Santiago. Stick a fork in 'em, they are done.
  8. I would be open to doing any 1 of the 3 things you mention. The Twins current catcher position is like a vacuum even with Castro. Just about anything would be better than what they have.
  9. Great game for Eddie, but also good to be getting some offensive production from the centerfield position for a change.
  10. Yes fans, 8 runs was a fluke. The real Twins were back in game 2.
  11. 12 hits, 8 runs, it's good to face the worst pitching staff in baseball. Do the Royals have anymore former Twins pitchers besides Boyer?
  12. Brewers scored 17 runs in 1 day. It's taken the Twins the last 7 games to score that many.
  13. If he could hit .264 in the majors he'd be one of the Twins best hitters! Don't we have a Utility guy? .... Escobar.
  14. "Get an outfielder who can play corner as part of the return so Buxton can serve AAA time." They have LaMarre but Molitor won't play him. They tried Cave for all of 2 or 3 Games? Grossman gets more time in the outfield when he's the last one that should be going out there of all the options they currently have. More offense needs to come from 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, DH, C. Outside of Escobar they aren't getting much from anyone else at those spots.
  15. I was going to say, unless Dozier gets hot other teams won't be interested but then I see the Padres traded for Hughes so I guess there is a market for just about anyone.
  16. What did the Twins ever do to Mike Zunino? They took Buxton instead of him in the draft. Payback.!!
  17. 3 guys don't make a lineup. Rosario, Kepler and Escobar have been the only ones that have done anything worth mentioning. Mauer was Mauer for a brief instant and Morrison was starting to turn the corner but Molitor decided he didn't need to play against Paxton. Maybe a wise decision if he had anyone that could hit to give him a day off but there isn't anyone. Funny how we were overloaded with guys who could play 1B or DH but no one can really fill that role adequately. My question is.... How many times as a player do you have to strikeout swinging at the same dumb pitches before you realize you shouldn't be swinging at them?
  18. No matter how you slice it, the offense is bad. I saw the same thing again last night that I have seen all season. Hitters can't put the meat part of the bat on the ball when it is over the strike zone and they swing at way too many pitches out of the zone. Maybe it's time for the hitting coach to be held accountable?
  19. Flash back to the great improvement he had during the 2nd half of the 2017 season. Hitting Coach James Rowson was being praised for changing Buxton's leg kick, getting him to hold his bat still, less body movement at the plate. It was the answer as he quickly became a good hitter. What has changed? Is he not still taking the same approach? I watch a lot of games. The biggest difference I see between the Twins hitting verses other teams like the Astros or the Yankees is that the Twins hitters swing at way too many balls out of the strike zone and when they get pitches that are over the middle, they just miss em and foul them off or don't swing at them because it is early in the count. Tells me their approach at the plate is terrible. Are they being told to work the pitcher to get him to throw a lot of pitches instead of just going up to the plate, looking for the first good pitch to hit and letting it rip? I call it the Joe Mauer approach. Let pitches go right down the middle early in the count, then get behind 0-2 and it forces you to swing at pitches you can't hit or that you don't want to. They talk about looking at as many pitches as you can to get an advantage over the pitcher, to see what he can throw. You know, 3rd time through the order pitchers start to struggle for that reason. The correct approach every time up, is to KNOW what the pitcher wants to throw. Where is he going to try to pitch you? Inside, outside, up, down? Then look for that pitch in that area and swing at it. You can't always wait for the pitcher to make a mistake pitch. Sometimes you have to hit a good pitch.
  20. Twinks are always reluctant to "start the clock" on their prospects. I highly doubt Gonsalves will be the callup for the very 2 reasons you mentioned, Santana and May. A relief pitcher will get the call.
  21. While the pitching has been shaky at times it has been the hitting that has been the most disappointing. Are we to believe the lineup is just in a funk or was the end of the 2017 season just a fluke? Injuries and cold weather aside this lineup has been anything but productive. Kepler has been solid. Morrison might finally be coming around. Rosario and Escobar can only carry a team for so long. Mauer is NOT a run producer. He can get on base but rarely drives in runs. Dozier can carry a team when he's hot, but when he's not, he stinks. Sano can't stay in the lineup, period. Buxton still looks overmatched. I've seen enough of Grossman, Adrianza and whoever is catching that I wish they'd all just go away. So far this season they are 11-6 when they score 5 or more runs and 8-17 when they score 4 or less. Pretty obvious they need to crank up the bats.
  22. And why should Escobar and Rosario be expected to carry this team every night? There are other guys in the lineup that they aren't getting any run production from. When was the last time Mauer drove in 3 or 4 runs? How about whoever is catching? No production from that spot lately. Yes Morrison has been a bust. Adrianza has done nothing. So, Dozier and Keplar delivered last night.... Where's Sano? Where's Polonco? Where's Buxton? Those 3 bats were suppose to be a big part of the lineup resurgence. Only 4 of the 9 guys in the current Twins lineup are producing runs, Rosario, Escobar, Keplar and Dozier. The other 5 aren't tough to pitch to and other teams know it. And yes, Berrios looks like an Ace 1 minute and a lost little leaguer the next. His command of his pitches is a guessing game at this point. He's got great movement on his pitches but he doesn't know where it is going once he releases it. Not good!
  23. "Assuming Castro isn’t gone for long, catcher is set." This makes me laugh. He can't hit a barn and Garver is unproven. I'd rather see them get a catcher that can produce a run or 2 every once in a while than an upgrade to the 4th outfielder spot.
  24. Was he on base? HA HA! Oh yeah, he got thrown out by a mile. Wonder why he bothered to slide. No big loss..... Bring back Drew Butera or John Ryan Murphy. Better yet, Kurt Suzuki.
