Really fair point, but risk on the Duran side too. Has to be a reason he's now 99/100 vs 103/104. Maybe it's the guns! :)

Again, bringing reality into the deal will take you down. Brutal arm chairs here today. Keeps it humorous.

Fair question. Next year, not terrible at all I think 5-6m. I hate to say, I don't think it matters, because we'll be bad again in 2026. Yes ,'team control' in 2027 but thats when we have to extend an again closer for big $, or commit to trading. hes my favorite twin, but i think the trade is solid

Much like Jorge Lopez and Matt Capps? (Ramos was a Stud) Relievers can be tricky. On the flip side, Ryan Pressley trade didn't work out well.

Because we will not be good for two years, so he provides no value, and Duran will get expensive. Have you ever negotiated anything? Demanding a ridiculous return isn't how it goes.

Well some on here seem to. Did we need to trade him. Absolutely not. Does a top closer help this team this year, or next? Absolutely not.

So who did you want? Not your typical conjecture... literally, who that was offered to the Twins did you want?

Red Sox 13, Twins 1: Is This Selling?
Wedman13 replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
For today, one swing, your point is valid. I love his immense power also. But in total, he is emblematic of everything wrong. No fielding .200 hitting right fielder. Yet we (or at least Rocco) thought he would be a great lead off hitter? We have far to many AAAA players and sadly Matt is one of them. ive tried to say... the worse we play, the value of or tradable assets goes down every single minute. Glad we at least moved Paddock- 60 replies

The OP set good bait with very definitive statements based on items like 'there were reports the rays and Yankees had interest'.... and a few posters latched on, hard. Good job OP drumming up responses, I guess. It has been humorous back and forth.

💯 Classic thread. You would think we just traded Clayton Kershaw in his prime for a bucket of balls.

We can again disagree on which national media we follow :) but ESPN gives tigers a D, twins a C. Is a C great, no, because this is such an insignificant trade. But at least to them, the Twins win it. Will it take us 4 years to find out? Yes. folks (not you) riled up over a Paddock/Dobnak trade are giving me a good laugh.

Minnesota Twins 2025 Trade Deadline Primer
Wedman13 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'm not saying you must trade, but Joe Ryan's trade value (and Duran/Jax) literally goes down every minute from here. They are at the tops of their game, and their window of control gets shorter and shorter. its great they are playing awesome, but the team is going nowhere. Its all for no meaning. The longer it goes, the less the return will be.- 62 replies

His story about how he got casted is 💯 true. He drove by, saw something goin on and decided to give it a go. the amount of actual MLB players was staggering, Johnson, Griffey (who I was scared shitless pitching to), Ivan Rodriguez, Dean Palmer and I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch. Leon Durham was a really cool guy, and twins players including Kirby were around all the time. filmed for about 60 days, mainly at the dome but also Fenway and Comiskey (or whatever it's called now). A very surreal experience for the local non-famous guys. Everything from food to hotels, chartered planes was 1st class. The wrap party at Mississippi Live was epic. https://www.borizsportsjersey.com/baseball-4/bill-wedman-13-minnesota-home-pinstriped-baseball-jersey-little-big-league-2

..... in every business. But the lost media/TV revenue for the Twins is very hard to make up for. Baseball absolutely needs to have salary rules, like every other sport mostly has. My guess is a prolonged strike/shutdown after 2026 season

I don't disagree with anything you are saying regarding fundamentals. It's hard to watch. And I think in any walk of life an organization takes on the personality of its leader. Sometimes the laid back approach -such as Phil Jackson or Joe Torre- works, but only when you have an alpha on the team that demands perfection from others. Byron is kinda that, Carlos should be that... but neither really seem to be that "jump on my shoulders" guy. So that's where a manager like Rocco doesn't work. but getting back on topic, I believe you have to trust falvey, or can him. The twins have very important assets right now, and whether they stay or go it is a crucial moment. Regarding trades, I do believe each of their values diminish every single day we have team control. And... never called you a traitor, I simply found the bandwagon post funny. I get the frustration.
