True. If the twins go that route start playing KC at 2nd or 3rd now. Let Brooks keep cutting his teeth in MLB until Houston arrives. Ultimately Houston is the shortstop with KC and Brooks taking 2nd and 3rd.. Not sure what you do with Keaschall. Still think Amick will have a say in things somewhere on the field in 2yrs.

You wouldn't have done the Bader deal? And from previous post, you would have preferred to be paying a full Correa salary? If so I respectfully disagree

good article, thanks! Clearly the walks need improvement. I'm guessing not completely abnormal for a 20.5 yr old in high A that was drafted at 165 lbs. it doesn't mean he will solve it but I got tired of the polished Stephen Golsalves types a while ago (also 6'5 lefty polished at 20 and went 13-3 with a 2.01 ERA in age 20 season - but threw about 87 MPH). Once he got to the big leagues it didn't work, it was never gonna work and he was never to be heard from again. hoping Dasan can grow into his body and get control because 6'5 lefty's throwing 100 interest me

I cannot stand the 'he's one of us bias'.... but I'm probably being obtuse. There probably is value to bringing your kid to a game and saying 'if Louis, or Matt can do it, so can you.' i like prospects so i like Rojas. And we weren't winning this year anyway. So why not go young. But I 💯 get your point on Varland.

.... which in all fairness, he did. So why wouldn't he think he could again? regarding Correa.... he is out. He is not helping the twins, or the Astros. Rather than paying full price for nothing, Houston took a good deal of the burden. To me, that's a win. Now the reinvestment of that saving, maybe not so much....

Yea all the criticism surprised me to. Geez. The OP throws an advanced metric out and everyone piles on. im not entirely sure what OAA is or how it's calculated. But comparatively to Correa, who had good range and cannon, I'm curious what Carlos' was last year. Brooks is progressing just fine. There are others who deserve the strong critiques

Well if he's anything like Delmon I'm not sure I want him in the outfield. :) I don't see an issue with him cutting his teeth at the toughest position then moving. At Winokurs age though I would think a move makes sense. But what do I know.

He's 6'6, growing into his body and just turned 19. Will he be Ozzie Smith? No. Will he stick at short? Doubtful bit you may want to let it bake a bit longer....

Billy Amick is the most underrated player in the twins system.

Really good post but I find the love for MW drawing a walk pretty hilarious

People tend to expect more from a 28 year old right fielder than a 23 yr old 2nd baseman who hasn't been in the majors for even a year. But it's an opinion board. You can be satisfied with MW all you want.

Can we please get Wallner out? Brooks Lee led off 3 innings. Brutal. You cannot win with Rf'er with this production. We have a decent shot this year but you simply cannot have a prime offensive position with these numbers (going on 2 years). Bring up anyone. Not negative, it's winning baseball. Let him go be Ortiz elsewhere

It just won't stop. "Wallner being a primary contributor to the teams early success at the plate". What? Really well thought out article but again do we always need to prop up Matt to pull it off.....because he's from (but left) here? Even he knows it's not working. I hope for every kids' success but it shouldn't be gifted.

Twins 13, Red Sox 6: This Team is Hot
Wedman13 replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This 💯. What is the 'tool' we keep being patient for? Byron... many. Royce? Unfortunately none. I'm not sure his contract but let it ride or trade him. (and I like the kid - it just didn't work out) -

I didn't quite follow the Brazil aspect but I think I 100% agree. In fairness, I think Falvey made some really good trades. Drafts? Meh. Developed power arms? Yes. But the whole approach between him and Rocco - win or lose - was never 'fun' baseball to watch. I know this won't continue but I lost much interest in the home run or strikeout approach.... and a starter can't go more than 4 2/3. great post -

Twins 13, Red Sox 6: This Team is Hot

Haha typical MN response (from me) "I know it's really early in the year" but is it possible Rocco was simply an awful manager? I think most liked him, me included, but somewhere along the way it feels like he lost concept. We can debate MW all day but if in the lineup, should Rocco had him as lead off hitter? Probably not fair to Matt. The lineups changed every single day. A starter couldn't go more than 4-5 innings. no idea where this ends, but as and old timer it's fun to watch baseball played again the way I was raised with. -

Disagree very respectably. Go young. OBP, speed, defense. We will never compete with the dodgers with big contracts to Pablo, Jeffers. (Ryan I struggle with)
