  1. As mentioned, congrats to some for turning this into an outman thread, once again. Can't be enough of that! You'd think the guy should just go back to being the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll, hiding D.B. Cooper and continuing to frame OJ while being the real killer on Bundy vs playing baseball. Long live the awesomeness of Brock Stewart....
  2. I have no idea what some on here will post about now with Outman gone. having said that, and I may be proven wrong, but I'm really excited about Royce. Go get em young fella.
  3. I think a lot of good reasons to like Flora. It's so hard to predict any position let alone pitching but it seems like a while since we've had a true twins grown power arm. So many Obers, Matthews, Festas, etc. I guess prielipp is one that comes to mind
  4. I see what you did there 😁 that physical and talent profile seems the opposite. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/raabebr01.shtml
  5. This and the post below it are really good. Gives a lot to think about in terms of the underlying stats. The only thing I'd counter with, is confidence matters too. I know that can't be measured, but Royce and MW 'seem' to be fragile guys where a little success (or failure) can matter. Either with coming back up, or as a marketable trade asset, sadly, this may be the peak. Only concern would be leaving them at AAA until they fail, then have little value for us, or others. But again, you guys laid this argument out in an insightful way I would not have thought to do. Thanks!
  6. I'm a sucker for drafts, so love the article. If we can get Lackey I'd be thrilled.
  7. What a colossal waste of time for folks to constantly complain about outman, Kriedler, gray, Jackson, arcia, Clemons and even Tom Pohlad..... in every thread. maybe frustration should be channeled towards those that so obviously let the team down thru performance or injury?. Royce, Wallner, SWR, Pablo, Jeffers, Jenkins, Emma. That was not a bad team if they produce. They didn't. Blame them. But go ahead bring up Fedko so the guys who should have been producing have one more AAA player to take bullets for them. However, anyone who thinks Fedko will cure the ills made by those who let the team down, will be complaining about him in a month. And if you think the guy we got for a one armed Brock Stewart is the problem, you are reaching.
  8. The twins do not have the luxury of taking positions of need versus the best they feel available. In the draft should they shy away from Cholowsy, Emerson, Lombard and LeBron because they have culpepper, Houston and Debarge? No Lackey because they have Jeffers, Tait and Jimenez? No Flora because they have Pablo, Joe, Taj, Abel, quick, Ellwanger and Soto? so they take the Gio kid who is ranked like 15 at #3 because LH starting pitching is a bit thin across the organization? Again, I hate the thought of trading Ryan, but if you do I believe you get the best talent possible, and if they all work (doubtful given the Twins) you have a great problem on your hands. My opinion only.
  9. You do realize we traded Nelson Cruz for an unknown prospect named Joe Ryan, right? Outman sucks, so does Brock Stewart. Not seeing the relevance there....
  10. Well said. If we have to deal him, deal him. I'd hate it, but get it. But If all the Twins extract is one top 100 prospect and 2 upside guys I'll throw up. That is an absurdly low return. Hard pass.
  11. It could be much worse than being 'stuck' with the 3rd pick in a draft most all experts see as having a very clear top 3. What is it about Lackey that you dislike so much versus Cholowsky, Emerson, Lombard and Flora?
  12. I know the mlb draft gets weird but by all consensus it's a top 3 draft. Both SS's and Lackey. What makes you think he should take under slot, and would fall out of the top 10?
  13. It just all went sideways. Like it seemingly always does. Abel hurt, Taj out for a few, SWR was horrible, Zebby sucks, Royce and Walner screwed it big time, Jeffers out, Larnach now has less power than most of us. Both Jenkins and Emma injured constantly. If half those guys work out, it may have been fun. But none, which is why we see Gray, Kriedler, Jackson, etc. does every team face these setbacks, seeming every year? I don't get it.... nor do I even know who to be frustrated with
  14. This entire organization is a disaster. Hate to be extreme but Jesus, put Buck and Ryan out of their misery and set them free. From ownership to the TV situation to underperformers to key MLB injuries, to having to call up washed out vets to having top prospects continually injured... it as low a point since contraction was threatened. There is no pitching at AAA and AA is an embarrassment (check out the team BA then name me 1 pitcher). I've tried to be positive, but do not see any answers. I feel bad for the writers trying to keep this site relevant.
  15. You nailed it. And Kriedler after him. Either way, Buck doesn't score after Bell and Gray grounded out.
  16. I love prospects too (Fedko isn't one) but this will not happen. I'd bet Lewis is back before any you mentioned. fwiw - this is a game recap, and the guys you mentioned had 7 of 9 RBI
  17. I thought the same. Good game, we lost. It happens. 'The whole world is shouting " changeup"' .....meaning the whole world minus the hitter? If that statement were true, seems fastball was the right call. The problem is the 89 MPH, not Caratini.
  18. What is one pitch he has that is even average, let alone above average? This is a huge nothingburger
  19. His stuff isn't close to the guys you mentioned. He has no discernible dominant pitch - which for a reliever matters. I find no issue here.
  20. And per the articles point... only one of the names you mentioned play infield, and 3 of 5 don't have enough AB's to qualify. .240? I think I miss the live ball era and steroids
  21. #1 this article is great. Kinda frustrating that we have to speculate who is gonna play where. It's one thing if these were low minors guys but by the time they hit the levels they're at, ud think the path would be clear. #2, so much hinges on KC. Defense translates and I believe Houston is the future at SS, even if he doesn't hit much. Brooks? Im torn. LK, I have to do a 180 and give props to @ashbury, as I'm starting to believe (albeit one week after my defense of Luke) he just may not have a place. i looked at yesterdays box, and while I know offense is down... I was shocked at how poor the twins averages are. Bad hitting with little power + bad D isn't a great equation. appreciate the article
  22. I thought this was a great and informative article. This take is what you got from it? That we need a closer? Maybe we can ship out Joe and get Nelson Cruz back also since we need a DH.
  23. Fair point. I would guess though, but could be wrong,, that a 1993 with 150k miles would have been more expensive. Glad it worked out!!!
