  1. This is well said, it 💯 is a bet on Wallner, Larnach and Lewis, Jeffers having a good year and Buxton being healthy. Not sure I'd take that bet. But for the moves they did I like the return. But I'm biased toward hope with prospects :)
  2. 1st, the articles lately have been top notch. Awesome job by the writers 2nd, for all the angst at the deadline trades last year, I wouldn't take back the Duran, Jax or Varland Trades for a second. We were not contending with them. We'll see, but we got two rotation starters, a stud catching prospect and super live lefty arm at AA/AAA. What does our rotation look like right now without those trades?
  3. Baseball is about optimism and hope. It's what makes it different, and magical (and frustrating). Try not to be to cynical and just enjoy the spring of this year, and WJ's potential. . There will probably be plenty of time mid season to be down :) I thought this article was really insightful!
  4. Check his career vs Sano thru the same age.? They just came from different places. hey, I tuned in when both of them come/came to the plate. Light tower power is fun. But it doesn't win games..
  5. Two more RBI's and it would have been a career high. So close!
  6. It's just a feeling, which ain't worth much. But I think we'll be talking about this kid 20 years from now... there's something about him
  7. This post nailed it. there are plenty of reasons to be frustrated with the Twins, this isn't one. Geez, from some of the posts I've read you would think we traded Jenkins and Emma for him,
  8. I feel bad for this site. Great writers (especially Seth) but no one cares any more.'
  9. Not sure why MW came into this conversation. But he is a massive reason why the twins are pathetic this year. The point that he's even compared to Kody Clemens tells us all we need to know. There's literally one reason people here defend him. Maybe KC could have been born in MN and we'd be retiring his jersey.....
  10. Cody is such a good writer but how Wallner escaped the 'once promising yet under delivering' and found himself in the the group, along with Keaschall(????), of being a potential star. That's a huge stretch for the hometown kid. Cleanout both left handed underperforming OF'ers, count on nothing from Julien and Miranda and give Royce 1 more year.
  11. A really odd point. Saying how much Lee must improve at the plate as a 24 yr old shortstop then saying the Wallner slander must stop because he is slightly better at the plate based on your chosen metric... as an almost 28 yr old, 4th year right fielder. Maybe I'm old school but flirting with the Mendoza line used to be a bad thing. he's not the only one, but Wallner has let the team and fans down this year. He, Buxton, Correa, Lewis, Larnach and Jeffers were counted on this year for the team to thrive. He failed and has been awful.
  12. I'm prepared for all the down thumbs from Minnesotans because he's ' one of us' but it's time to move on from Wallner. He's been terrible. When did we start accepting that a RF'r batting under .220 and less than 30 RBI's is ok? Down year? No. The league figured out his deficiencies on 75% of the plate. He's almost 28, Is he the only issue, of course not. But he's not an MLB contributor. Winning means zero now, we're playing for picks. So keep him there, please. Next year it must be Gonzales or others.. Wallner apologists, flame away..... I'm sure there is some advanced stat that says he's doing amazing. also, I feel the same about Royce
  13. Agree fully. All in on the rebuild, or all out. First place I'd start are our corner outfielders. Unwatchable. Get Gonzales,/Jenkins/E-Rod up there next year and keep one (or neither) of Larnach or Wallner for a bench/DH role. Regarding Lee, he deserves his 1k at bats at a consistent defensive position before being tossed aside. But having said that, I thought it was a really thought provoking article that wasn't trashing Lee, but making a valid and concerning comparison to Miranda. Well done!
  14. I trust this to be true, just have not seen the comments. Who said what? I suppose I could google but if u've got off the top of your head I'd love to hear. Thanks
  15. After re-reading the article I found it interesting he mentions discussing it with Buxton, Ryan, Ober and Jeffers. Anyone else find it odd there is no mention of Royce? And toward the end he mentions something about "you have to play hard, it's not enough just to be up here". If it's a player he's referencing, that sounds like someone on the younger side of their career, not Correa.
  16. Or maybe Jax or Varland then? Varland pouting about going to the bullpen (which was the right move) or Jax about being taken out of the game before being traded? I tend to think none of the three players were what Pablo is referring to (although your logic of not pointing at anyone still here makes sense). I would think it's when Joe Pohlad pulled the strings on the payroll. But just speculating as I have no idea.
  17. Stewart's old, his ERA in LA is about 5 and now he's injured and hasn't pitched (unless today) in about a week. I wouldn't hang my hat on hating this trade... what value did you expect?
