A dark mode is on the table but it's going to be awhile. I need to check options available; if there's an option that doesn't involve me writing an entirely separate theme and maintaining it, that option will be available much sooner than if I have to maintain two sets of code. -

If you scroll down 800-ish pixels on any page, this red circle will appear on the bottom left of your screen: I added that to the site explicitly for that reason. It's a scroll to top button that takes you back to the top of the page without scrolling.

Possibly, but this team isn’t actually terrible at scoring runs, they’re terrible at scoring runs in specific innings, which is the weirdest **** I’ve ever seen and defies logic.

Advanced defensive metrics are not influenced by the official scorer. What he or she does is irrelevant to any metric worth a damn.

He was on his knees facing the stands. It would have been a hell of a play to get either runner.

Donaldson can’t control what the pitcher on the mound does. Even if he cleanly transferred that ball, an out at home or first was far from guaranteed. It was an extremely difficult play.

*shrugs* I have no idea why this is happening. The starting rotation has been pretty good, the bullpen has been awful.

The stop means nothing, except for the part where it prevented another run from scoring. Donaldson has a +2 DRS in 20 games. That’s a damned good fielder, whether you want to accept it or not.

We can blame Baldelli for several (imo mostly minor) mismanagement in games but when every reliever he puts in the game lights himself on fire the moment he steps on the mound, the manager can’t do anything about that.

That was a hell of a stop and lots of third basemen don’t even get to that ball and two score. A lot can be said about Donaldson but his glove is outstanding.

Hey don’t leave out “Twins offense in late innings” vs “Tigers offense all the time”. Twin unstoppable forces versus immovable objects on both sides of the ball.

Ultimately, a run is a run. It really doesn’t matter where it comes from. Run scoring and run prevention are two sides of the same coin.

Their inability to score late *is* a big issue. They’ve scored one run in the ninth inning. One.

1/10 is pretty bad but Cuzzi really maximized those bad calls yesterday, which surely impacted our mental image of what was happening on-field. Because every bad call really seemed to sting, as they so often happened in key spots.
