lists their all-time single season Twins season by position going back to the Senators days. They, also, list 5 starting pitchers and 3 relievers. Bob Alison beats outs Oliva in RF.

1.1975 Rod Carew

2.1988 Kirby Puckett

3.2009 Joe Mauer

4.1967 Harmon Killebrew

5.1928 Goose Goslin

6.1963 Bob Allison

7.1930 Joe Cronin

8.1996 Paul Molitor

9.1986 Gary Gaetti

While Allison was a wonderful player I'd still prefer Oliva and I would think at least 90% of us think the same way. He would be in Cooperstown without a doubt if not for his career ending leg injury. And while "Molly" is in the Hall I still consider him more of a Brewer than a Twin.

Noticed that they made a mistake with Killebrew 1967 season. It should have been his 1969 season where they list 140 RBIs when describing the best season for a 1b.

How can they say 1967 Killebrew when his 1969 MVP season was far superior in all categories - HR 49 to 44, RBI 140 to 113, BA .276 to .269, OBP .427 to .408, BB 145 to 131, OPS 1.011 to .965. Someone made an error. This was the greatest season ever for a Twin.

EDIT: Sorry I started my rant before thetank had been posted and was interrupted.

An odd choice, for sure. Even Harmon's league-adjusted OPS (OPS+) was slightly higher in 1969, despite it being an expansion season the year the mound was lowered.

The bad news for the Twins in 1967 was losing the pennant by one game losing the last 3 games of the year with the last 2 to the Red Sox. That close to their 2nd WS in 3 years.

The stats for Killebrew that they used was from 1969 but they used the 67 season so it was a mistake (or typo)

1969 Killebrew played more games at 3B than he did at 1B. 1967 was his best at 1B

I would have liked to have seen Tony-O's 1970 season recognized.

DH choice with Molitor's 116 OPS+ is weak. Since DH was a late addition, they could have easily chosen a player with a better season before the DH existed, like HOFer Heinie Manush's 1930 (.362/.406/.559 and 146 OPS+) season or even Oliva's 1971 (not '70) season (.337/.369/.546, 154 OPS+).

And I'd take HOFer Stan Covaleski's (20-5, 2.84 ERA, 149 ERA+) 1925 season over Pasqual's 1959 (17-10, 2.64 ERA, 149 ERA+), but the most unrecognized pitching performance here was Alan Anderson's 16-9 2.45 ERA and 166 ERA+ 1988 season for a pretty mediocre Twins team.
