More muggings happen in Wrigleyville around Cubs games because of all the bars. The crime in that neighborhood spikes quite a bit around games, otherwise it’s not so bad. It’s always been the perception that the Sox stadium was a in bad area of town, but it’s not anymore. Not since they’ve torn down the Robert Taylor Homes in the 90s. I’ve lived in Chicago more than 25 yrs and have gone to many games there by myself, on the L or ridden my bike. I’ve never once been bothered by anyone or felt unsafe. And I’m a female. If you were mugged in the parking lot there, it was more random and not because the area is bad. Sorry that happened to you and understand how that drives your perception of the neighborhood. But it’s not at all like it was back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, and during game time, no worse, and probably better, than Wrigleyville during games. Saw that the Sox have plans for a new stadium...also...being from Chicago...you could probably beat up a mugger more than me despite being a female

I was just not impressed by the stadium and area around it at the time. I was at Wrigley when it was day games only...long time ago...LOVED IT...but I know they added seating and more. It reminded me of Fenway. Yeah, it’s a no frills nothing concrete stadium. It won’t win any awards for ambiance. But, if this matters, food and drink is better at the Sox field. Gotta make up for it a little bit, I guess. But no matter where you sit you have good sight lines. Not so at Wrigley. Fenway is a much better park than Wrigley, imo. I tell people to go to Wrigley at least once. It is an iconic place. But over all I think it lacks and I avoid it
