Luis Castillo Could Bolster An Already Strong Rotation

Castillo is owed $25M in 2027. At the time he signed that deal, that was a bargain. Not now however. Can't see Tom P. parting with prospects AND having $25M more in player salary on the books for 2027.

I'm still not necessarily buying the idea that Seattle is going to have a sell-off. With that pitching, and considering how 'winnable' the AL is this year - they just need to sneak into the post-season and they'll become the team that no one wants to play.

Prielipp has, potentially, enough left to get through August. ……. Paredes is out for balance if the year or at least for a month plus.

Seattle has to pay $14M or no deal ……. they save $10M & move on. If it’s not a big $$ number from Seattle, pass!

IMO - a lot would depend on how much salary Seattle is wiling to eat. Paying $24M for a veteran, good clubhouse guy, 4/5 starter is not an option. Get that number under $10M, without giving up any prospect capitol, is worth a discussion.
