Thinking Big: Should the Twins Target Top Closer Mason Miller?

No offense, but this would be the dumbest idea ever. 

This is the type a move a team makes when a shutdown closer is their only need. This is also not a move for a wild card team.

I pray, pray, pray you don't think these two are anywhere close in value.  I can't even imagine using the two names in the same sentence, unless the sentence is "Kaelen Culpepper doesn't belong in the same sentence as Walker Jenkins."

Starter I agree, BP would be great but the BP are shaping up at the moment. Just need a lead to hold. Reliable hitters with RISP. Buck will be a welcome return

Wait. So we could potentially get the best closer in baseball and they'd throw in Xander Boegarts if we give them less in trade?

Sign me up! 

Xander is worth 1.3 WAR already this season with a down year on offense. He's not happy in SD and it shows in his play. Get him out of there and see if the team environment here suits him better. If he can get back to even close to who he was before signing in SD, $25M a year would be a steal. Admittedly, he could make things go the other way and completely sour the locker room. But man when hes playing right, hes fun to watch. He'd lock up SS or 2B for a while, too.
