Mortimerkenny21 Verified Member Posted June 9 Posted June 9 The Tigers have heated up recently; can our flailing Twins compete?? Hopefully some run support and no costly flubs from the defense, let's play the game and find out. Go Twins!! This day in Twins history: June 9th 2022: Three Straight Home Runs to Open the Game During a matchup against the New York Yankees at Target Field, the Twins became the first team in franchise history to hit three consecutive home runs to start a game. Luis Arraez, Byron Buxton, and Carlos Correa took Yankee starter Gerrit Cole deep on three consecutive pitches. The Twins ultimately hit five home runs in that game alone. This would be a nice way to start the game, but not the result of that game, Twins lost to the Yanks, 10-7. Richie the Rally Goat, C-Gangster, nicksaviking and 1 other 4

SteveLV Verified Member Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I think this series will have an impact on the looming trade deadline. Drop 2 or 3 to the Tigers and we slide into the depths of the mediocre Central and can start looking to the future.... Sweep and there is a glimmer of hope. Patzky 1

What a season.. has it only been three years? Amazing.. Mortimerkenny21 1

A team full of utility players and with at least a quarter of the players only worthy of being the 26th man on most teams is not a contending team. One series is not going to change that. HarmonK03 Verified Member Posted June 9 Posted June 9 This lineup tonight, we have three players, Gray, Clemens and Bell that we have options in St. Paul to replace. We are 7 games under .500 playing these three who have no future with the team except for maybe Clemens in a reserve role at best. Time to make the changes and see what you have for next year, so you know what holes need to be filled. And yes there will be baseball again at some point after this season, whenever that is it would be nice to know what direction we need to go rather than treading water.
