Early mock drafts have the Twins picking Georgia Tech catcher Vahn Lackey third overall, but with the draft still two months away and plenty of baseball to be played between now and then. Are Twins fans becoming too attached to him as their first pick in the 2026 draft class? Jamie and Jeremy find out.

Gawd, I hope not.  There are two guys who are a clear cut above.  I pray the Twins take advantage if one of Cholowsky or Emerson drops.

Lackey should be the guy assuming Tampa doesn't surprise. I am intrigued by Flora. Hope to see him in the tournament. Would the Twins opt for Flora hoping to take Jackson in the 2nd? Still would be tough to pass on Vahn.

The bigger question with Lackey is whether he'll even be around at #3. If he is the Twins will take him. Not sure what happens if it's Emerson vs Flora, I'd assume Emerson would be more likely based on history.

I’ve only watched the regional games and the ACC tournament.  Based on that limited sampling, he has been by far the most impressive player I’ve seen.  He looks more like the #1 rather than #3 pick.  Absolute stud hitter, good defensive catcher, and the rare catcher that is likely the best athlete on the field.
