Matt Wallner’s Unfulfilling 2025 Season and Uncertain Future

Who was the 2nd cutest Little Rascal?  Darla was the cutest, but who was next?

My point is, no one cares.  The "2nd best" in a horrible subset isn't an accomplishment, but a mathematical certainty when the subset includes 2 entities.

If we're talking raw power yes hes one of our better power hitters, but the stance and leg kick make him susceptible to missing high and low pitches. If he cleans that up his strikeout rate will lower too.

Larnach seems to be Kepler at the plate,too many ground balls to 2nd for outs. Wallner is just another Joey Gallo who pitchers know can't hit fastballs at the top of the zone. This team is full of hitters that can't get the ball in play when needed. Just last night there was 3 in the lineup hitting under 210. How about getting a lineup on the field at or above 235. This lineup is a 5th place team in the central.

Wallner reminds me of a young Schwarber. I suspect very few teams would want a young Schwarber right now but none would turn down a hitter with 56 homers and 132 RBI's. Will Wallner ever have those kind of stats? Probably not but maybe.
