I understand the theory that most teams use for underslot.  The way this team is currently run, they will draft the cheapest prospect available and pocket the money., rather than spend it later on.....

They have not do that in single draft.   I am all for bringing up the shortfalls of ownership, front office and management.  This is makes no sense what you are suggesting.

I'm speaking in hyperbole.....(look. it up).

What makes no sense with this organization is trading away your entire bullpen including Louie Varland with multiple years of team control.

What makes no sense is having guys like Keirsey, Gasper, Fitzgerald (and 90% of your bullpen) on your active roster.

What makes no sense is using your September call-ups on Kiersey and Adams instead of seeing what guys like Fedko could do, while playing a guy like Clemons at 1B (he is what he is) instead of giving a guy like Sabato a chance.

My point being is I have ZERO confidence in this organization even doing the right thing with a top draft choice the way it's currently being run....and that is coming directly from the owners.

Bring up Sabato for a cup of coffee! Joulien does nothing for me

Agree!  Why have non performing players getting playing time. Fedko is another who should get some playing time instead of Outman, who is doing nothing..

He has a .624 OPS in AAA so he has not been even close to the same hitter.  However, he also only has 29 ABs in AAA so it means very little at this point.

Then why point it put if it means nothing, which is true.

You don't understand the strategy of going underslot.  You would underslot your pick so you can get a better prospect later in the draft.  They absolutely could underslot.  I think they learned with Jenkins,  get the best player you can with the highest ceiling.  Those are the players that can change the organizations trajectory.

Once upon a time this regime did that with Royce Lewis and Blayne Enlow. At the time people claimed they went cheap on Lewis to save money and not to use it elsewhere, but then they went overslot for Enlow.

I don’t recognized half of the bullpen of waiver pickups and discarded fringe AAA guys that now populate it. It makes no sense to have a bullpen of castoffs and low performing position players like Outman, Julien and Fitzgerald. Why not give Fedko, Sabato, and Gabriel Gonzalez a shot to see if they can help next year? This team has descended into chaos and appears to have no plan.
