B Richard Provisional Member Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Great to see that result from May, especially the 9K's over 1 BB
robbie111 Provisional Member Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Is it too soon to think of moving May up to AAA, for instance if Gibson or Albers get called up. Also nice to see Albers with another quality start. Just wondering if anyone has seen Albers pitch this season? Outside of comments from Terry Ryan I haven't really learned much about this guy. The latest scouting reports on him are from 2010. If anyone can find anything newer I'd like to see a writeup on him. I don't think anyone here has actually seen this guy

Same age, similar stat line, 10th round/11th round draft picks. With the difference that Walters is a 6-time AAA pitcher and Albers has been coming back from arm troubles for 3 years.

robbie111 Provisional Member Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I did a little research and Albers was University of Kentucky's best pitcher 2008 (same staff as Logan Darnell) Had TJ in 2009. Has been crazy consistent this year and had pretty good low minors numbers but seemed to struggle (if you consider a 3.75 era struggling) each time he was moved up until this year. I would like to see him and Gibson up and Correia traded, and have the Twins run a 6 man rotation to help save some of the starters arms. Maybe they could get a little further into games and also help save a few of the bullpen arms. Then you could also move May and Darnell up to AAA if they are deemed ready.

About a month ago Jim Callis at BA said he thought May's path to the bigs was thru the bullpen. Obviously not what need. I just hope he keeps pitching well and remains a starter.
