BB has always been able to put together extended hitting streaks. I suspect we'll. see 2-3 of those this season if he can stay on the field. (Fingers crossed.) He is only 30 and i see plenty of athletic ability still. Besides BB is a player who seems very much a team guy - I have to root for him. Hopefully last night is the start of a hot streak for Buck. When's he on, the Twins are just a much better team. Craig Arko 1
Whitey333 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 Byron Buxton has been nothing but a huge disappointment for most of his career. I feel sorry for him in that we've never had the opportunity to see a full time Buxton. Also I notice how people say that he can carry a team. Yes it's possible but he's rarely around to do that. Also remember he's had many of those 2 for 30 slumps in his career that people seem they don't happen to him. Correa is a very good shortstop and decent hitter. Is he producing at a 35-37 million a year player? No. But in fairness he isn't surrounded by a lot of talent. But 50 million between the two plusn10 million paying Vasquez, and the near 18 million that Lopez is getting this year is all way too much for a team with a payroll around 125 million. Doesn't leave much $ for improving the roster.
Otaknam Verified Member Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 it is time for Twins fans to accept that Buxton will always miss at least 25% of every season because he is injury prone. But he and Correa need to start producing offensively for this team to be a playoff contender. If that happens and Lewis is healthy for the rest of the season their prospects are improved. The rest of the lineup is unexciting, especially compared to Atlanta or the Yankees, which have real fire power lineups.
