This was the lineup I expected. Not that I agree. I don't get hitting Buxton behind Jeffers. But in today's game things are different for sure.

True.

Their left handed batters against left handed pitchers have an OPS of .775. The right handed batters against lefties have an OPS of .708. The right handed batters are pulled down by Farmer and Santana who comprise 23% of those plate appearances with an OPS of .319.

I'm fine if we get that number down to 0% to fix that issue.

Sigh. Gotta admit, I'm losing faith every day in this FO/manager combo.....there is NO reason for Julien to be sitting at all. None. I don't care about getting Farmer going....I want the best players in the game.

It's not like Farmer's even playing SS anymore. There's going to be no excuse to continue to roster him when Correa and Lewis are back, not to mention when Lee becomes healthy.

Stone hands and 29 Ks; he is doing a good job imitating Gallo at this point last year, without the fielding skills.

The fact he is hitting better against Lefties than Righties is a bit amazing.

Right, but Miranda will go down because "options" are more important than playing actual good players....better to lose with bad players in the majors and better players in the minors, in case those guys get hurt, or something like that*

*not talking SP here, but the bullpen would be a lot better with Alcala in it than random dude...

Look at the lineup tonight and look at the lineup Wednesday against Crochet.

See any change.

Rocco isn't throwing curveballs at us. Rocco is as consistent as they come.

Monday when we face Crochet again.. This will be the lineup again.

Sandoval and Crochet have huge left/right splits.

Sunday against the lefty Detmers who has reverse splits. We might see a lefthander in the lineup. Kepler most likely... maybe Julien if Rocco goes crazy.

So, if Baldelli is still manager when/if Rodriguez and Jenkins make it to the show, we can expect them to consistently sit against LHP?

I gave up on Rocco last year. Started a thread, even.

Their best hitter against lefties this year is Julien.

Reasonable result when you roster players to protect against 25% of the pitchers that you face at the expense of 75% of the pitchers you face.

Yes... unless we are over stacked with lefties.

Or unless they learn their lesson this year with Margot and Farmer not being adequate to face right handers.

Keep in mind. This isn't Rocco alone.

Someone has to build the roster for this to be executed on the field.

Not to mention all the strategy they talk about and agree on.....if the FO hated this, he'd not be employed by now.....

Exactly. Rocco isn't rogue. You can't be this predictable and consistent rogue.

You can't keep your job being rogue.

Julien's numbers this year are the opposite of expected, he is doing far better against Lefties than Right handed pitchers.

Hmmm. Being a batter, somehow i myself would expect Julien to do better than right handed pithers against lefties...

Sylvester Stallone, Jean Claude VanDamme, and Arnold Schwarzenegger are sitting around discussing casting for their upcoming musical.

Stallone: "I'll be Beethoven."

VanDamme: "I'll be Mozart."

Schwarzenegger: "Nope. Forget it."

I get the joke, that makes me sophisticated right?

I got it! I'll be Haydn.

Wait, no- I'll be Strauss.

That's not it...I'll be Rachmaninoff.

Hmmm...
