I guess most of us are down with the idea that these game threads are kind of like sitting at the ballgame and shooting the breeze, but this post was more like the guy at the end of the aisle who is muttering about something and everyone else is afraid to ask exactly what. Good job, keep it up, and I'll read it after the game.

Not so fast, Lee Harvey. I totally rustproofed all that boilerplate with self-deprecation at the end. Also, I'm the guy at the game who the guy muttering at the end of the aisle is afraid of being out-crazied by, and who breaks the sacred vendor-customer fan relay by randomly handing a purchased bratwurst 90 degrees off course.

It sounded overly sarcastic, but as I went on to say, it's actually tinged with admiration. He's figuring things out. Just like a lot of 23-year-olds in the majors for the first time have to do.

My guess is that whatever you wrote after "overly sarcastic" made sense, but the matter/anti-matter collision of those words made me dizzy. Wait. Coming into focus now. Yes, like 23-year-olds starting... well, anything for the first time. Present company early 20's excepted, of course.

 

Snark fail on my part. I'm not on the foot patrol of the Hicks Defense League, I'm the guy they're macing. Even though I think he'll be....I meant IS good! Gotta go.

Be careful about meeting your heroes, lest you be disappointed. I shook hands with Cecil Fielder and he was about the same height (but not weight) as Freddie Patek. I exaggerate, but not by that much.
