snepp Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Perfect... It should Glorm... Well, it was supposed to be GLORM! but the forum apparently knows better.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Doumit leads off with five foul balls. Could be a big inning. / oh, and a homer
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Doumit with the homer. Boom goes the ball... That should be all we need tonight.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Just in time. Rust makes the milk taste bad.Initially the the coppery taste of my own blood caused by the ingestion of tiny glass shards concealed the hint of rust finish to the fruity Nestle' Quik bouquet, but eventually the rust won out. Which is odd, since the outside was plastic. And quite frankly, the whole rig was probably cheap. There were only three Star Wars characters on the lunchbox: 'Easily Duped, Crooked-shooting Stormtrooper', 'Useless Gas Pump-shaped Droid Who Wanders Around and Says "Gonk" Over and Over', and 'Scary Plus-sized Exotic Dancer in Jabba's Palace'. I tried without success to package it with some Fritos and a Mattel handheld football 'video' game with a dodgy 'up' key in an attempt to trade up for a friend's SW lunchbox that featured rebel pilot 'Porkins', whose X-wing blows up when he fails to note the overhang clearance limit when "attacking" the Death Star Burger King drive-through featuring a 2 for 1 bacon double cheeseburger promotion. No go. Oh, crap. The bears for detail are talking about the game in the game thread again, aren't they? Fine. When in Rome. So Doumit is still possessed or a zombie, huh? Plus that whole homer thing...
snepp Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hmmmm, Parmalee didn't exactly go all-out there.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Parmelee was safe. I rewind-ed-did it. He was safe!
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Initially the the coppery taste of my own blood ... I guess most of us are down with the idea that these game threads are kind of like sitting at the ballgame and shooting the breeze, but this post was more like the guy at the end of the aisle who is muttering about something and everyone else is afraid to ask exactly what. Good job, keep it up, and I'll read it after the game.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Parmelee was safe. I rewind-ed-did it. He was safe! The ESPN pbp says "out stretching at second." This was something he should have done before the game. Fine his ass.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Parmelee was safe. I rewind-ed-did it. He was safe! Huh, I rewind-ed-did it and on my TV the ump called him out again.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Unhook the plow, Parms. Parm needs to stop admiring his bloop hits down the line. Some pitcher is gonna throw at him if he keeps doing that.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hicksie! The man is on fire. Since April 21 his BA is .224.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hicksie! The man is on fire. Since April 21 his BA is .224. I wonder what clicked on April 21st... What turned on that light bulb?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 OK, I am done at work. Will drive home, take dog on walk to pick up dinner then sign back on.I smell reality show. That, or takeout and dog poo.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Huh, I rewind-ed-did it and on my TV the ump called him out again. How many bar bets have you lost this way?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I wonder what clicked on April 21st... What turned on that light bulb? If you are serious, I think the answer goes back to April 12. That is when he started getting that unGodly number of walks for a week. My guess, based on nothing, is he had a heart-to-heart with batting coach Bruno, realized the pitchers were playing him as a chump so he layed off the bad pitches, and after a week they started giving him a little bit in the strike zone to hit, and he's at least hitting like a rookie now instead of like me.
snepp Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 How many bar bets have you lost this way? It's a feint, don't buy it!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hicksie! The man is on fire. Since April 21 his BA is .224.Remain calm. You are suffering from the early stages of anti-Twins syndrome. Help is on the way....http://twilightswarden.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/large_minority_report_blu-ray1.jpg
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 If you are serious. What are the odds of that?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 What are the odds of that? Surely you can't be.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 How many bar bets have you lost this way? I wonder how many Angel Hernandez has lost this way.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Remain calm. You are suffering from the early stages of anti-Twins syndrome. Help is on the way.... It sounded overly sarcastic, but as I went on to say, it's actually tinged with admiration. He's figuring things out. Just like a lot of 23-year-olds in the majors for the first time have to do.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Surely you can't be. No I'm not Serious... And don't call me Shirley!

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Parm needs to stop admiring his bloop hits down the line. Some pitcher is gonna throw at him if he keeps doing that. Not to beg or anything... But not a single like for this. I thought it was good.
