Analyzing the Biggest "Goat" In Twins History

I've said before that the Pohlad's are better owners than the Griffiths but that's not saying much. Carl gained his fortune through terribly unethical means and put the fans and the state through a gut wrenching ordeal to secure a stadium his family needed only pay for 33% of as opposed to Tigers ownership (66%) or St. Louis (87%).

This sentance is difficult though:

Another World Series championship may calm things down a bit, but with the way things have gone, perhaps Twins fans will complain of a lack of ticker tape at the victory parade.

Surely they want to win another World Series, but unlike a club like Detroit, they do not appear to be willing to make the (financial) sacrafices to aggressively do so. Instead they will passively wait and hope that in the future they will be able to field a team to compete at this level.

Do owners have every right to squeeze every possible dime out of their investment? Yes. In turn do the fans have the right to make them the goat if they do so? Absolutely.

We certainly have the right to wish our team's ownership was as aggressive and willing as Detroit or St. Louis or San Francisco or Texas or Anaheim or Atlanta or Washington.

Edit:

In full disclosure I put most of the losing onus on the teams front office, but I'm going to defend anyone who gets a cathartic release from ripping one of the least willing ownerships in baseball. They do not have much of a track record to defend.

This article is bogus... the buns are never stale at Kramarczuk's.

I like nicksaviking take on this. I think the Pohlad's fired Smith b/c he wanted to keep a higher payroll, not b/c of his baseball moves. They are lucky, in my opinion, to have Ryan who can create a good team on a low budget but I'm going to be really pissed in a few years when the team is ready to compete again if the purse strings stay closed. We'll see.

I think I just had one bad experience with Kramarczuk's cart at the beginning of last year. It was like they slapped it on two pieces of cardboard. But other than that, I always make sure to stop there during a game.
