Do they finally give up on Kepler instead?  He as actually right now hitting at above career averages, and still playing elite defense.  This would not seem to be good timing for this move.

We sit here and pray and pray for Kepler to hit well so he has some trade value.  Then when he does, we're afraid to trade him.

Alex has not been on the field enough. He needs to tear up Triple-AAA, show he can do more than put a ball-in-play. Can he field, can he run (and steal). This is a multi-tool talent that has basically garnered more than a year of service time on the injured roster.

I agree with this take.

Thus far though, AK has been swinging the bat hard, hitting line drives all over the field and bombs well over the fences in all directions. Alex has run the bases well with two steals in three attempts. He has also played a very smooth first base.

Now, the Twins want to see a full week or two, maximum, of AK playing five days a week and maintaining what he has done to date. A healthy Kirilloff could really be a tough out in the middle of the Twins lineup.

If he can play in St. Paul and he is playing in St. Paul. He can play in Minneapolis. Same amount of physical activity.

The Twins don't need to wait and see if he can play 7 days a week. If he can play 5 days a week in St. Paul... He can play 5 days in Minneapolis.

Alex has one option left and it has just been used. You are not going to be able to correct service time next year so I guess it's OK to be patient with him, while getting his service time underneath super two.

Next year Alex will be in the same out of options boat as Nick Gordon. The minors will no longer be an option for Alex. It's sink or swim time. He will have to win himself a major league job so I wouldn't wait too long to get him up here. The more MLB AB's this year will be important for his sink or swim moment next year.

I'll let them wait for a couple of weeks. Once Super Two is safely in the rear view mirror... it's time to get him to the bigs immediately.
