Aww man, my high school English teacher is here.

Are you trying to make a point?

Opinion articles are great, but when you use the framing of "the Twins are more positioned to benefit than any other team in baseball" in the first paragraph, it's not unreasonable to expect that assertion to be supported in some fashion.

Here's hoping you'll take the criticism constructively as it's meant, rather than making light of it for whatever reason.

Yes, that just about any article you read about sports is based in opinion or a dreaded GOAT debate. There is so much variability and so many data points now that you can massage statistics to make any point you want and get clicks. I appreciate the coaching though, maybe you can teach me how to use a comma.

As a former player and coach, I prefer to observe the game a report it through my own lens. I find that to be more fun for myself and readers. Stats are great and can be very persuasive but it's not my style. If you don't like how I write that's ok.

It's not your lense or style I'm criticizing, nor your comma use. I'm not sure why you seem to be defensive over it. My apologies if I hit a nerve.

Your perspective is valuable as a former player and coach. It's a somewhat unique perspective I don't get to read a lot of on the site.

You did a good job of summarizing the team's off-season moves and rule changes.

Whether you use statistics isn't as important as supporting the main assertion from the lead paragraph (i.e. the phrase "more positioned to benefit than any other team in baseball") with some sort of comparison to other teams. I believe that would've improved the article and made it more cohesive from a reader's perspective.

Why are the Twins better positioned than other teams? You led with that assertion but never backed it up.

Again, I'm not talking smack, I'm giving constructive criticism in an attempt to help improve future articles.

P.S.  I've watched you play as an F-M Redhawk and enjoyed it, just as I generally enjoy reading your work here.

All the best to you Alex.

No mention of Vazquez, the biggest rule-change acquisition the Twins made?

As great as he is at throwing out runners, I still think most of the issue is with all the pitchers.  It never seemed Jeffers or Sanchez or Garver ever had a chance.
