  1. You don't know what you're talking about, and it's making me a little nauseous.
  2. Do you believe this MN roster can compete? What evidence of that has there been the the past 2 years?
  3. I've noticed since he first started writing for Twins Daily, Alex's strong suit has never been accuracy of information or punctuation when it comes to writing.
  4. If it were a fact, that may prove your point, but not all the prospects were that great in the minors. Certainly not obvious sure things. There's also the idea that unless they play at least reasonably well in the minors, they'll never get a call up.
  5. After literally just promoting Falvey to head the business side last year? I doubt it. Pohlad's stick with bad losing decisions for about 3-5 years after it's apparent they made a mistake lol
  6. If only we could ask share your delusion lol
  7. I'm not here to make friends, but no one's mad unless you are lol I'm simply blown away by your inability to locate the most basic information regarding what you comment about. You don't seem to actually be watching the games, just posting half informed opinions based around the idea that things were vaguely better before. I'm more interested in you than I am base stealing at this point. You've been, at best, half right and half informed throughout this thread, confidently telling others they must answer your points without admitting you're not fully informed on points such as the latest rule changes that affect the exact point you're trying to make. Didn't know something? Blow right past it and change the subject by demanding someone answer a different question or point lol Do people often just stare at you with a bewildered look on their face?
  8. Funny how you start arguing a completely different point once we've explained that you're arguing against your own imagination. Just like here, where you start arguing against some idea you imagine I'm positing. You're arguing against straw men you're setting up yourself bud. They literally made the bases bigger and limited the number of times a pitcher can disengage from the rubber to hold a runner on. How are you unable to find this information? How are you watching baseball for years without realizing any of this? The broadcasters mentioned it like every game multiple times a game that first season like 2-3 years ago lol Woof, it says you joined Twins Daily in March 2023. That's the year they made multiple rule changes to encourage more base stealing. How are you ignorant of these changes and how can you not find this info on the internet? Are you watching the games? Listening to them? Not watching but just posting complaints after looking at the box scores in the paper? I need to understand how you can simultaneously have such strong opinions, have so little of the information one would want to come to an informed opinion, and be so inept at finding basic information on the internet regarding the subject you're forming your opinion on... On an unrelated note, you don't happen to watch Fox News do you?
  9. Trading the team's second best hitter would be the height of foolishness, not that what you suggested was serious in any way lol
  10. I think the reason Buxton often leads off is to get him more at bats, not necessarily because he's fast, though it's certainly a plus.
  11. I don't think anyone has argued Rocco or the Twins system is the best at analyzing or utilizing sabremetrics... You originally asked "What changed?" Got a response from me of "rules around base stealing" and then went off on an anti-sabremetrics rant lol
  12. How much do you think he makes? Can't be over 2M, and I'd honestly be surprised it was was even approaching 2...
  13. They changed the rules a couple years ago to make base stealing easier... Sabremetrics thrive on large data sets, so even one or two seasons won't fundamentally change things, but slowly, integrating new data will alter expectations, models, etc.
  14. Totally reasonable thought process. I'm just not convinced they're going to find anyone better for what they're willing to pay, which I see as the problem all the way down the line. When we don't have accurate insight into what price they value coaches or front office personnel at, it makes it difficult to judge them in any way other than performance. But if they're spending Ty France money relative to the position, whether it's first base, manager, or GM, we should all expect Ty France type results.
  15. I cannot find that number anywhere, and it directly contradicts the story I quoted from Bob Nightengale from '23, so I'd really appreciate if you can provide a link. I'm super interested if he's actually making 10M/yr. If he's one of MLBs highest paid managers that might get me on the Fire Rocco train. Edit: I found the 3 yr 30M contract number. It was the AI generated result on Google. I looked at the source and the AI was erroneously pulling Christian Vasquez's 2022 contract number from Cot's Baseball Dictionary site. I still cannot find any actual real dollar figure for Rocco's manager contract.
  16. You missed the 10M/yr they have to send the Astros for taking back Correa. Also they're going to make back their money being bad easier than if they were good. It's harder to make money by spending the money required to provide a good product or service. Easier to just squeeze everyone involved including customers and employees. Look at how most large businesses operate now a days. Making things worse often leads to more money for those making the decisions, even if it hurts every other person down the line.
  17. You think Rocco is making 10M/yr to manage this team? I think that's a gross overestimate. Did you see that number somewhere? Where's it coming from? I can't imagine he makes any more than 2-3M, but probably more likely between 1-2M. Most managers don't make anywhere near 10M. From a Bob Nightengale USA Today article in 2023: There are only six managers in the game who are scheduled to earn at least $3 million in 2024, led by Padres manager Bob Melvin’s $4 million salaries, according to USA TODAY’s research: Bochy, Melvin, Buck Showalter (fired), Dave Martinez, Roberts and Alex Cora.
  18. Notice how the fans are last any time more than one interested party is listed. Pretty on the nose for what we've experienced the past few seasons.
  19. It's almost certainly the latter, though I don't know if there's any specific reporting about it beyond the front office noting at some point that this debt was incurred from around 2020 and beyond. On that timeline it almost has to be debt loaded onto the team by owners who think they're tricky businessmen, but instead are just the scumbag, used-car salesmen of baseball owners.
  20. And he's not starting... He's being paid to fill in if needed and get DFAd when someone returns from injury. Unless he magically starts hitting and even then he's not safe.
  21. They want those guys playing every day. Sitting on the bench and playing 2-3 times a week isn't what they want when trying to develop MLB players. If you believe all our Minor Leaguers at EVERY position are superior to players who started the year in the MLB for other clubs, idk what to tell you. I think you're expecting an awful lot from any baseball organization other than the Dodgers...
  22. What moves would you have made to fill these spots left open from injuries? It's one thing to do nothing in the off-season to improve the club, it's another to fill holes that occur due to injury. I'm not saying Bride, Clemens and Gaspar are great or even good, but I fail to see how going out and getting guys to fill holes elicits a blame Falvey response. Would you prefer they play with a 23 man roster an no bench? How would you fill the holes left by injury?
  23. Helman was sold to the Cardinals last week for cash considerations last week.
  24. You do, whether you like it or not. You wouldn't be wasting time posting and reading stories here if you didn't care.
