Well, a triple-meat pizza with extra cheese comes close, but OK, I'll give that one to you.

Now I cant get my mind off pizza.

hahah did you see how awkwardly hicks fell he must be so embarrassed lol

No way he's embarrassed, he's jacked up! I hate to say I told you all so...ok, so I love to say it, but that is why you let these guys work things out instead of panicking and running them back down to AAA.

With respect, I don't think the discussion of sending him down indicated any panic from anyone. He started abysmally, and it was a legitimate possibility to raise up. That being said, I'm glad he's starting to respond, and let's give credit to the Twins who did keep him up.

oh yes, he's embarrassed. just like the griffey jr. and michael madsen films of old, these guys CRASHED into the walls. one of them even died. this isn't funny.

Told us what? That he'd still be in way over his head in mid-May?

We're all happy for Hicksie's big night, and I'm sure I'll take plenty of heat for my timing for this. But anyone who's paying attention to how he's doing knows that he's still utterly helpless against right-handed pitchers (.128/.227/.179). That's horrific. And it's still little better than a coin flip whether he'll start in or out on balls hit in front of him.

Again, happy for Hicks that he had the huge game, and I hope and believe he can get it together, preferably at AAA. But the notion that tonight represents even a sliver of validation that the Twins made anything less than a big mistake by having Hicks start the season in the majors and stay despite still being overmatched after 6 weeks... easily a Preposterous Statement of the Year nomination.

Hey, Hicks's got the average, he's got the strike outs, he's got the walks, all you add is the home runs and you've got an Adam Dunn with speed.
